I returned mine because they did NOT fit on my 1.5 inch bars. They seem like a very good product for smaller bars.

Yakima Evenkeel roof-top kayak mounts are better suited for lighter kayaks. Product installation is very simple and requires minimal effort. The mounting surface which comes in contact with the kayak is only partially covered by a rubber pad. I bought a thin rubber sheet from Home Depot and cut it to fit the entire mounting surface and then glued it on for additional traction. Yakima Evenkeel is an excellent value in comparison to other single-kayak transport solutions.

Installed on 2004 Toyota Sienna factory roof rack. Easy to follow instructions, easy to install, holds 14 1/2 foot Old Town Cayuga with no fear of falling. A quality product. (I could not carry a second similar kayak on top of my Sienna with a second EvenKeel as the factory rack would not be wide enough)

I bought this rack for my RAV4 to carry my windsurfers, since placing them on the manufacturers roof rack bent my satellite antenna. The carrier increases the height about 4 inches. The rack is very easy to install, secure, and adjustable. The included straps work well, and are also easy to adjust. I carried a windsurfer, masts, booms, and sails from upstate NY to the Florida Keys and back with no problems at all. While driving in Florida, I also tested the best way to carry a board in terms of mileage. Upside down, with bow in front worked much better (by about 3 mpg) than right side up with bow in the rear of the car. We have also used this rack to carry other objects (4 x 8 sheets of plywood) with no difficulty. I recommend this rack.
