Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Rear bike mounts can be extremely handy, but they run into trouble when they restrict access to your car's trunk or rear door. Enter the Yakima FullSwing four-bike hitch-mount rack, which swings completely out of the way even while carrying four bikes at once. Perfect for folks who want to leave their rack on their vehicle at all times, the FullSwing is outfitted with Yakima's Swing-Away technology, which pivots conveniently to the side in a pinch. The rack also includes a Quickcam lever that lets you fold the arms--a must for storage or when trying to squeeze into a tight parallel parking spot.

Thanks to the rack's Switchblade anti-sway cradles, the FullSwing will keep your bikes from banging against each other while you drive. Designed for 2-inch hitch receivers, the FullSwing's dual-arm design fits most bikes without requiring an adapter, and includes a deadlock for locking the bikes to the rack and the rack to the car. As with most Yakima products, the FullSwing carries a one-year warranty.

Product Description

The Yakima FullSwing 4 hitch mounting bike rack is a full-featured premium rack engineered for convenience, from the DeadLock one-key locking system to the Swing-Away Arm that lets you access your SUV door and window without unloading the bikes. The bike arms fold down easily with the new Quick Cam lever when the bikes are removed so your vehicle can fit inside the garage at the end of the day. The FullSwing 4 carries almost all bikes without needing top-tube adaptors. The SwitchBlade anti-sway bike cradles keep your bikes scratch free until you inflict your own damage on the ride. The FullSwing 4 holds up to four bikes, and fits a 2 receiver hitch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great rack, litttle heavy, but well worth it., April 12, 2007
I purchased the rack a couple of months ago and I've been very happy with it. It holds the bikes a little higher than I would like, but that provides clearance on inclines. The main reason that I went with this is that I wanted my wife to be able to access the back hatch on our Montero Sport without having to worry about her 120 lb self dropping everyone's bike or having to take it off. She has no problem at all moving the bikes out of the way and it securely holds the bikes. One thing to consider with this purchas is the 9' yakima cable lock to lace through the tires to prevent tire theft. With the SKS system, all of the keys can be setup to match, so you can have a cargo carrier, bike lock, bike rack, hitch pin lock and whatever else all with one key. It's well worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bike Rack, February 23, 2006
This is a very good product. It swings out of the way - even when loaded with bikes - allowing me access to the bed area of my Tahoe. It folds down nicely, allowing me to park in my garage without removing the rack from the truck. On the downside, it is pretty expensive and it is fairly difficult to get the rack mounted on the truck. However, I am not aware of a better bike rack (at any price) intended for use with an SUV with swing-out (i.e. not swing-down) tail gates.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Rack, September 28, 2008

This review is from: Yakima FullSwing 4-Bike Hitch Mount Rack (2-Inch Receiver) (Sports)
We have owned this rack for 2 years. We have Honda Odyssey. The reason we chose this rack over the Thule swing out version was because the bottom of the rack is elevated from the hitch (not straight out of reciever). This is important on a lower (non-SUV) vehicle. I've never scraped the hitch on any sharp inclines.

The rack is very solid. No problem to have 4 bikes on the rack and still swing it out of the way (I don't think that Yakima reccomends this....but it works just fine on ours). Only draw back I've found is the shear weight of the rack (50-60 lbs.). Makes removal and storage (I hang ours up) a little difficult. However, it's a great rack.
