Easy to install, however there is no use for the original shocks. A return for partial credit would be a nice option. The sticker on the trailer shows the load limit with the standard (silver) shocks to be 250 lbs. The purchase of the optional shocks should include a new sticker showing the load limit as 350 lbs with the blue/orange shocks.

I want to second two points made by another customer. I bought these shocks at the same time I bought my trailer. This means that I have a BRAND NEW pair of original shocks for which I have absolutely no use. I contacted Yakima to express my displeasure, and to suggest they offer the option of Regular or HD shocks with all trailer purchases. They responded, stating that this would complicate things for dealers, who would then need to have a variety of trailers in stock. Ridiculous, and not true. These shocks are SO easy to swap; the dealer would only need to have a few sets of shocks on hand, not entirely different trailers. Not to mention that many, like myself, buy these trailers in the box and build them ourselves, which would only require the swapping of the small shock box before shipment. I also suggested to Yakima that they simply put the HD shocks on ALL their trailers since they don't even increase the load capacity by that much.

Which brings up the second issue. The load rating increase is not entirely clear. Even in Yakima's own literature, it sometimes says the load rating increases from 250# to 300#, and in other places says it increases 100# (to 350#). They already have a sticker with load rating on the trailer, and what's worse, it even says "Silver Shocks" next to it. I have no idea why they wouldn't ALSO have a row for "Orange/HD Shocks" and list that rating as well. That way, regardless of which shocks are used, the operator can easily determine the capacity. But don't even get me started on these stickers, because the trailers still come with a sticker that says to use a 1 7/8" ball (this used to be true) when the trailers now have a 2" coupler. Dangerous, ridiculous, and possibly illegal?!

Bad information provided by the Amazon merchant. Per Yakima these shocks are only for use on the 78" trailer and increase its load carrying capacity to 350 lbs. from 250 lbs. in stock form.

Yakima specifically states that they are not for use on the 66" trailer model.

Easy to install. Seems to do the job for heavier loads. Glad I added these on before I started using the trailer.
