4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad...
Much easier than the Raptor style. I generally had trouble getting the bike up because I'm 5'5'' and everything is happening above my head. It's a little tough to roll forward but it only takes a couple seconds and once I do it's secure. The rear tie-down is a much better design than other previous models.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great unless you have the yakima fairing
Has to be reversed if you have the fairing, or the wheel tightener will not swing past it. They did not design it to work with one of their most common components. When it is flipped around the rack sticks out over my windshield. Plus I think it looks kind of stupid to have your bike backwards up there. The High Roller Rack has the tensioner knob behind the wheel, so...

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Product, February 8, 2008

This bike mount is great on-roof mount if you don't want to remove the tires. It bike feels very secure when strapped in and is easy to use. Only draw back is cuts mpg down considerably. Plan on short drives to location and avoid high speed freeways. Overall, it is a good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yakima King Cobra, September 6, 2009

Great rack. Easy to put your bike on and take off. The only hitch is that you have to be tall enough to put your bike on the rack and have enough body strength to life your bike onto the rack. With a light weight road bike, it is very fast. With a heavier mountain bike, you have to make sure you are very stable before trying to lift and place the bike on the roof. I use a small kid stool, about 1.5 foot high. This seems to do the trick.

Please note that your gas mileage will suffer. My Civic Hybrid went from 43 mpg to 30 mpg with 2 bikes on the roof. Also note that you will not get into most parking garages. Otherwise, it is a great product and gets the bike out of the way. Just remember that the bikes are on the roof before you enter into a garage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works wonderfully, October 26, 2008

Yakima makes great products. Well designed and easy to install. This upright bike rack is no exeption. I bought 2 of them and install was 3 min per rack. With both bikes on top, the whole Yakima Q-tower rack system was completely stable and the bikes didn't move at all. I am thoroughly impressed. Only complaint is that my high-profile Yakima fairing won't work with these racks. I have to remove it anytime I want to load bikes. The low-profile fairing should work though, but the instructions say to turn the racks around.

Basically, get this rack if you don't want to have to remove the front rim (ala the Viper) and want to enjoy loading/unloading a bike in under a minute :)

This rack installed easily and held the bike securely. I wasn't quite sure what to do with the locking cable, however, and it sometimes gets in the way.
