From the Manufacturer
The CDR-HD1000 is a versatile, state-of-the-art recording center--but is more then just a recorder. It includes a 20 GB hard disk drive and provides fast editing and compiling for music fans. The hard disk features enough space to record up to 30 CDs, serving as a high-quality storage device or as a jukebox for both analog and digital playback. The CD-recording functions, however, are the central features of the CDR-HD1000. The device delivers 10x "ripping" from CD to the hard disk, 8x recording from the hard disk to a CD-R, and 4x from the hard disk to a CD-RW. The unit can also record in both analog and digital directly to the hard disk (to comply with Serial Copy Management System, the hard disk is erased after digital recording). To ensure top-quality sound, the recorder features linear PCM recording with 24-bit A/D and D/A converters. To match all current digital audio formats, the CDR-HD1000 automatically sets the sampling rate at 96 kHz, 48 kHz, 44.1 kHz, or 32 kHz, depending on the requirements of the medium. Additional features include optical and coaxial digital inputs, as well as an analog input and a headphone output with a level control. For the greatest possible control and flexibility, the CDR-HD1000 provides separate recording levels for the analog and digital inputs. The device also lets you input or edit CD text using the front panel or the remote control keypad.
