Great headphone with microphone. A bit heavy, yet sturdy and still comfortable. Produces great sound for enjoyment of music. Microphone reproduces spoken sounds with great clarity. Excellent for recording of speech, voice communication and gaming. Due to relatively high impedance, will eat your batteries fast, if used with any portable devices.

This headphone/mircrophone made for a nice replacement of my original set that came with my Rosetta Stone program. They are very comfortable and now I can spend hours on the computer. They do a great job blocking outside sound as well. The mircrophone quality is fair. I don't recommend it for singing or wind instruments but is OK for talking.

"Product DescriptionClosed-ear headphones with dynamic mic" These DO NOT have a dynamic mic element. They have an ELECTRET mic element..at least the pair I received sure does as it's clearly stated right on the front of the package in big letters "CM500 Headset With Electret Microphone" that's why they come with the little battery box as an electret element needs power to the element where a dynamic element doesn't. I should have returned these as soon as I saw that as for my needs I prefer a dynamic microphone

After stepping on them for the millionth time i had to right a review. They are literally in perfect condition after months and months of heavy daily use. no scratches even. this headset is solid. sound quality is good for the price. On ventrillo ive heard conflicting reports that my mic quality is horrible or acceptable, and on Skype it tends to be on the quiet side, but clear, but if you talk in a normal voice its loud enough, its really only when you leave the mic on top of your head that people notice. there is no volume control on the headset, but i have a volume control button on my keyboard, so i don't care. those things just get bumped anyway. for my next headset i will probably spend more money and get something fancy, but these are great if you have nerd rage, or just dont use headphones all the time. i often wear them with glasses and it is perfectly comfortable.

Yamaha CM500 - Nice Headset,

I purchased this headset for my son to use for play by play sports broadcasting. It has features (boom mic, over the ear noise isolation, a very long cable, and rugged construction) of high end broadcasting headsets for about 1/3 the cost of the most reasonably priced "professional" style broadcasting headsets. The voice quality is good and the headset is comfortable to wear for extended periods (2-3 hour football games). It comes wired with separate 3.5mm plugs for microphone and headphones and includes two adapters to convert each from 3.5mm to 1/4" for use with standard audio mixers. It is important to note that the microphone is the type used by PC sound cards and not the types typically used for professional recording (dynamic or condenser). However, this ships with a battery powered microphone adapter (uses one 1.5V AA battery) to facilitate usage with a standard audio mixer. Although the adapter works fairly well, I replaced it with a custom unit I built myself with parts from Radio Shack. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for an entry level sports broadcasting headset.

I bought this for doing high school sports on the radio. It was everything that I hoped it would be. It fits comfortable on the head and it picks up background noise very well (sometimes too well) to give the "being there" feeling for the listener. The long cord helps for moving around to be able see and call the action.

Good sound quality, voice can be heard clearly when using skype. We only use these for video games, can't speak to how good they are for music. They are also comfortable to wear and easily adjustable. My only issue is when I am also wearing glasses they hurt a little, but my husband has no problems with glasses on.
