Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

With the Yamaha 2100EZ CD-RW, you can record and rewrite up to 700 MB of data or music on a disc. The write speed of 16x, combined with a generous 8 MB buffer, enables you to record a 74-minute CD in less than 5 minutes, and the 10x rewrite speed enables you to record, erase, and record information up to 999 times. Throw in a 40x read speed, and you won't need to purchase an additional CD-ROM drive to play your favorite games. The Pure Phase laser system, exclusively found in Yamaha products, reduces reflections and glare when CDs are recorded, resulting in fewer errors on the finished disc. Reliability is also increased through the use of optimum write speed control, which automatically selects the best recording speed for a disc. For easy updating of drive software, Flash ROM is included as well.

From Digital Living Today

In our ever-changing technological landscape, you've got to be confident to put "Lightspeed" in any computer product's name, especially if it's a CD-RW drive. We're happy to report that Yamaha's CRW2100EZ Lightspeed 16X/10X/40x Internal EIDE CD-RW kit has every right to be called just that. CAV, a constant read speed, and a variable spin velocity system allows the CRW2100EZ to rip audio CDs at up to four times the speed of competing drives. A wide array of bundled software allows you to burn within minutes, using the drive as a music management tool, an image catalog, or an excellent archiving system. RapidLinked Packet technology provides drag-and-drop simplicity as well as the flexibility to back up one file at a time. To top it all off, the CRW2100EZ's very reasonable price makes the Lightspeed an extremely attractive burner for any value-minded consumer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Product, June 8, 2001

This review is from: Yamaha CRW2100EZ Lightspeed 16x10x40 Internal EIDE CD-RW Drive (Personal Computers)
Well, after reading all the reviews that were here, and there were a lot of negative and a lot of positive reviews, i decided to give it a shot, plus 30 dollars rebate hook my attention finally.

So, thanks to amazon.com, i received the product pretty fast. And i was ready to install it. Installation process was piece of cake: just connecting everything and that's it. My system: Pentium 3 450, 128 MB, 2 HDs - one IBM 10GB , second WD - 500 MB, and DVD Player, so i had just a one spot left for IDE. My Motherboard is ABIT BX. Windows 2000 Pro found it without any problems, there wasn't even a need to install any drivers. Since i had NERO Burning Rom, i decided not to install all the soft provided with this product(maybe some day i'll give it a shot, but i'm satisfied completely with NERO). So, i was able to make my first AUDIO CD in less then 5 minutes on 12 speed. On 16 - it's a little bit noisy, but still ok. Well, i already wrote several Audio cds and DATA cds, as well i tried copying from one cd to another. Everything is working smoothly as it supposed to be.

Product is great.

Thanks AMAZON.COM _ Thanks YAMAHA _ Thanks NERO
