Amazon Verified Purchase
I've been using this set quite a bit for the past 5 months or so. I am very happy with this purchase. The kit is solid and well constructed. The rack is very stable and and everything appears to be of good quality. The kit is total fun to play and my 2 year old loves to go to town on it. In fact, she's probably used it more than I have.
The only cons that I've noticed is the snare drum is not as sensitive as I would like. I had to turn to dynamic range down so the snare hits would register. If the snare hits were not in the exact center of the drum it could not be heard. The bass drum pad is pretty loud. I've put a wool winter cap over the pad to quiet down the strikes but it is still a little loud to use at night while the family is asleep. The top hi-hat cymbal pad tends to spin like a normal hi-hat so the trigger sometimes goes out of range.
Other than that I love this kit and find it to be a great investment for my playing. I'm able to practice at home and not annoy the family or neighbors and it helps keep my chops up between band practices. I like the ability to play along to music and still hear everything I'm doing without blowing my ear drums out. The pads feel good but there is more rebound than on an acoustic kit so don't get too confident in your speed. I can play a lot faster double bass on this kit than my acoustic one.
Overall I think this is a really good quality kit and with free shipping it is hard to go wrong. I was shocked that I got free shipping to Alaska. It saved me over 300 dollars. Definitely consider this kit.

My last electronic drum kit was another brand and was a disappointment. This time I spent a lot of time deciding on what drum kit I was going to get and settled on the Yamaha DTXPRESS IV Special because of the real high hat, the cymbals and the variety of sounds from the drum module. I also prefer the rubber heads instead of the mesh heads from my previous kit. I have had this kit for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it! Everything is high quality and works perfectly. I also recommend getting the MS50DR stereo monitor system, which mounts on the drum rack to hear your drums in stereo when you want to play without the headphones. I love this drum kit and I can't stop talking about it!

This kit is completely worth its price! Don't spend over $3,000 for an electric set that can do the same at half the price! Great triggers, very durable, easy assembly, completely light-weight, and a terrific drum machine! I highly recommend! Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced!
