Best money I've spent in awhile!, March 11, 2007
This review is from: Yamaha DVX-C310SL 6.1-Channel 900W Home Theater System (Electronics)
Unbelievable sound, no static when you crank it up! I set it up in 15 minutes but used heavier speaker wire than Yamaha supplied. This unit does everything as advertised. I skipped the iPod adaptor from Yamaha and bought a simple $10 audio to stereo wire and my iPod is hooked up although it is digital to analog (sounded great to me but perhaps using the more expensive iPod hook-up, you could get more true digital sound). There are a few ways to hook up an iPod on this unit. The sub-woofer has it's own power source and you can tell when you crank. Burn a cd with a couple hundred mp3s and it works fine! It even displays the song name on the DVD player! The DVD player is top notch and quick. The sound was perfect when I played a movie unlike other systems I've heard, voices are as clear as a bell at any volume. My five year old Sony HT makes me feel like I'm going deaf as it is hard to hear voices. There were about 4 or 5 choices for the "sound effect" and they are adequate. It has an on-screen menu if you want to see your music selection on your TV. Another thing I Iiked was the weight of each element. The little speakers are relatively heavy and the subwoofer-pretty heavy. I like to see this, I don't think quality components should be light. Personally, I'm not a big music afficianado but I think you'd be nuts to buy an expensive home theater system. I can't imagine the sound getting better and this takes up relatively little space.
Only took Amazon a few days to get it to me and I saved a bunch of cash too (no tax, free shipping yeehaa!)
I love this home theater!
