Built for good looks and for soliciting looks of awe from listeners amazed at its great sound quality, Yamaha's GX-505 executive microsystem features 3-CD playback with PlayXchange (swap up to 2 discs while the third continues playing), a single-well auto-reverse cassette deck with Dolby B noise reduction, an AM/FM tuner with 40-station random-access tuning, and wood-finished, 3-way speakers. It's powered by a high 80 watts per channel--especially impressive given the system's petite stature. "Small" is not how you'd describe its sound, however: the speakers each pack a robust 5-inch woofer, a 2-inch tweeter, and a .75-inch super-tweeter for extended high-frequency response.

Yamaha's exclusive YMERSION technology broadens the speakers' perceived soundstage for a more enveloping listening experience. You can adjust the sound to your tastes or to your specific listening room using a bass-boost switch and any of the system's 3 preset equalizer curves.

The system is remarkably flexible with its connections, too: there's one each stereo analog (left/right) RCA input and output (perfect for a DVD player, VCR, tape deck, or other device), as well as an optical digital-audio output for feeding a CD or minidisc recorder with a direct-digital output from the GX-505's CD changer. A headphone jack affords private listening.

It has awsume sound and a nice bass to it. I heard some realy low tunes that i could never hear before with my old stereo. This s a nice system if you like to make some noise.
