The Yamaha HTR-5850SL XM-ready digital home theater receiver is a full-featured digital home theater receiver that sports some serious features. Component-video up-conversion takes composite signals and converts them into a component signal. Other major features on the Yamaha HTR-5850SL include 6.1-channel discrete amplification (105 w x 6 RMS), Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) amplifier design concept that ensures the highest signal purity, and 14 surround programs. With 14 different sound programs that provide multiple variations, every movie and every piece of music will sound right in your home theater. Discrete power transistors, rather than chips, are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 105 watts each to seven channels, and the HTR-5850SL can accommodate DVD, CD, MC/CDR, and Digital TV/Cable.
