High-quality Yamaha Sound
A good set of home theater speakers must combine high-power capabilities with excellent sensitivity and dynamic range, but you don't want a loud system that leaves you fatigued with ringing ears. The NS-225F meets your high audio standards by using dual 3.12-inch PMD (polymer-injected mica diaphragm) cone woofers. The diaphragm is composed of 30 percent high-quality Indian Pearl Mica. Yamaha chose this substance because it makes a significant contribution to the sound quality. In order to maximize its distinctive qualities, absolutely no coloring is added to the material. In addition, the NS-225F features a varied cone thickness (it is thinner on the outer edge of the cone), which has been shown to improve sound performance, and Kapton bobbins to help increase signal-to-noise ratio. The cones are extremely light, yet also tough and durable with an excellent response speed. And with 120 watts max input power, the speaker is built to fill a good-sized room with crystal clear audio.

Built for Sound, Built for Style
The high-performance 1.12-inch tweeter in the NS-225F features an aluminum-magnesium alloy dome with a DC-Diaphragm (integrated diaphragm and voice coil). The tweeter is super-light to minimize loss, yet it is remarkably durable. It is capable of sound reproduction all the way up to 50 kHz, which is an outstanding range for a three-centimeter dome tweeter. The speaker shape is designed to reduce diffraction and standing waves to bring you a clear, true sound. Audio quality aside, Yamaha didn't scrimp on style either. The NS-225F features a precision-constructed, floor-standing wood cabinet with a luxurious silver finish that is an ideal match for your high-end flat-screen or plasma television.

The Fine Details
Sometimes it is the little details that make all the difference. The NS-225F bass-reflex tower speaker uses two ports rather than the standard single port. They are precisely tuned to archive the best low-frequency response and a higher attack speed. The Bass Anchor uses heavy-duty, round-shaped steel plates to provide stable support, and also to dampen unwanted vibrations that can adversely effect sound quality. Even the terminals of these speakers are top-of-the-line, they're made of brass and gold-plating for the highest signal conductivity. The sound of these speakers are just wonderful, and I highly recommend them. I bought four of them and they sound just great and they look incredible. I also bought the matching Yamaha subwoofer and this truly gave me an outstanding sound system.

I bought these as they were on sale and because they were small sized speakers. When the Yamaha speakers played Horowitz, the piano sounded realistic. I turned down the HDTV and listened to hours of music on my CD carousel player. Something I had not done in a while since my 30 year old speakers were lacking something, the high end. The old speakers did not have the spatial sound they once did. I am pleased with these Yamaha speakers.

These speakers has been out for awhile now and I just came into a pair not to long ago, the accompany any home theater well, due to their slim design, remove the grill to display white colored woofers. Great addition to anyone's set up.
