Yamaha's affordable two-way NS-A50X bookshelf speakers are terrific general-purpose speakers that you can position either vertically or horizontally. For home theater use, consider hooking them up in conjunction with a Yamaha subwoofer for deep, dynamic bass. The speakers, which are sold as a pair, employ all-aluminum drivers, including an 8-inch woofer and a 5.25-inch midrange, both with inverted aluminum dust caps, and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter.

The speakers are magnetically shielded, so they can be placed on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture. Five-way binding posts make connections easy, and gold plating provides the finest electrical bond. The speakers' grille design and satin grille cloth provide an attractive and acoustically transparent protective cover for the drivers. The profile-radius-wrapped black-finish cabinet gives a handsome style accent and improves the acoustic performance by reducing cabinet interference and assuring the proper dispersion of sound.

I own a pair of these speakers and am very pleased with their performance. They are "crystal" clear in the higher frequencies. A subwoofer complements them well. During playback of jazz, 80's rock, and techno, I was suprised at how well the speaker held on without distortion. WHAT A GREAT PAIR OF SPEAKERS! Pick your genre of music, and grab a pair of these speakers, you wont be disappointed.
