Yamaha NS-M525 Custom Series 2-Way Bass Reflex Surround Speaker, Black (Single)

These speakers are a great improvement over the Onkyo surround speakers that I had previously. As I switch more of my stereo components to Yamaha the sound keeps improving. Although they are of higher cost, you can usually find them at deep discounts somewhere online. I had my best luck at Amazon.

Very little product reviews or documentation is available on the Yamaha NS-M525 speaker. However, I am totally pleased with this gem of a speaker; this is an excellent speaker and can be used as either front mains or rear speakers in a small to medium size room (but please note, any sound set-up should include a subwoofer).

Some thoughts on this speaker:

1 - The Yamaha NS-M525 is made of REAL wood; the cabinet construction is of the highest craftsmanship.
2 - The sound quality from highs (tweeter) to lows (bass) for a bookshelf speaker is wonderful; this speaker produces pleasant natural sound quality.
3 - This speaker comes packaged in a such a way that the wire connectors in the back are independently protected, nicely done.
4 - This speaker, although it weighs almost 10 pounds (I weighed it on a high-end digital scale, it's actually weight was 9 lbs 4 oz, but the manuel says is weighs 9 lbs 14.7 oz) can be placed on a shelf or wall mounted.
5 - It come out of the box ready to be flush-mounted directly onto a wall, and as a secondary mounting option, you can opt to use the prefabricated machine screw holes to mount onto the wall with a speaker bracket without having to purchase any type of special wall mounting materials (any standard mounting bracket that can support 10 lbs or less will attached to this speaker).

Lastly, the bottom line is that the sound produced from this speaker is wonderful.
