Great speaker, except when listening with bluetooth.,

There is a subtle, high-pitched whine (briefly noted in CNET review) when using bluetooth. It's noticeable enough that you can't stop hearing it and makes listening to music impossible. It sounds surprisingly good, however, when using the line-in (but you could buy something similar, and a lot cheaper, if you don't care about bluetooth). I have a new phone (Blackberry Pearl 8130) and pairing was no problem. I called Yamaha and they were not aware of the problem, although I did have the rep read the CNET review. He said he would talk to the tech guys and get back to me. That was two weeks ago.
I am returning the Yamaha and have just recieved a Parrot "Party"Parrot PARTY Bluetooth® Stereo 2.0 Portable Soundbox. Interestingly, the Parrot sounds very good using bluetooth, but not as good using line-in. I'm keeping the Parrot.

High pitched whine ruins it,

This speaker is great when plugged in via the analog jack. When you're listening in bluetooth mode, however, there is a persistent high pitched whine that makes for an annoying and painful experience. What a tragedy that Yamaha Quality Control let this slide through.
It would be a great product if not for the bluetooth noise. One star - I don't care how well it works via a hard connection. I bought it for the bluetooth functionality and cannot stand to use it in that mode.

I will be upfront and let you all know that I have not ever used or encountered any other wireless speakers.
That being said, I was very pleased with the performance (sound quality), range, and ease of use of the Yamaha NX-B02. I have used it with my MacBook and iPhone and both devices quickly link up with the speaker and the speaker produces great sound that is perfect for smaller spaces and/or gatherings. I like to take the speaker into the kitchen with me when I'm cooking and leave my laptop out of harms way. That being said, it's not a 5 piece surround sound system. It gets a lot louder than laptop speakers but I wouldn't try to use it for like, a party or something.

Yamaha Bluetooth Speaker,

I bought this speaker to extend my music to the back porch. The Bluetooth paired with my Sony Bluetooth transmitter and the Yamaha speaker works great on the porch even with the sliding glass door closed. There are some problems with Bluetooth. 1. The speaker receiving the signal through Bluetooth will have a delay of about ten seconds. 2. Most Bluetooth transmitters will pair with eight receivers but the catch is it will only send to ONE AT A TIME. If I have the Bluetooth transmitting to the speakers in the bedroom the Yamaha speaker on the porch will not be sent the signal. I have to turn off the bedroom Bluetooth receiver before the porch unit will receive the signal.

Good speaker, but not via bluetooth,

Having the same problem as everyone else. This speaker is great using the inline jack, but using A2DP this thing sounds simply horrible. Without the bluetooth you can find much cheaper options for the same quality.

I have the same problem with the bluetooth thing, there is a high pitch noise, but when using the analog input ,for the size of this thing , the sound is really good, the look of this little box is really great, you can put it anywhere and match with anything , the price is a bit too high , but where else can you find somthing like this, my favorite thing is the batery power, you can take it anywhere , I'm using it while I do check the cars in the garage, I find this unit really practical....I'll get another one for my syster...please don't tell her
