The Yamaha PSR-540PC opens up new musical possibilities by incorporating advanced features and dynamic sounds. For the composer, the PSR-540PC has a 16-track sequencer and a built-in floppy disk drive with which you can load song data in a variety of formats, including Standard MIDI Files. In addition, a software package allows for editing and playing musical compositions on your computer. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, the PSR-540 includes a versatile assortment of features to enhance your musical creativity.

An onscreen navigator takes you step-by-step through the settings of various instruments and functions by displaying helpful messages according to the selected keyboard mode.

The PSR-540PC features Yamaha's original XG (Expanded GM) format. The XG format enhances your musical expression capabilities by providing an expanded voice list, more effects, and detailed voice editing and control.

Multipads add more fun to your keyboard performance by letting you trigger various melodic and rhythmic phrases as you play. The PSR-540PC provides four pads with 36 preset and four user phrases. All multipad sounds will musically match the selected tempo and any accompaniment chords you play.

The PSR-540PC is equipped with a floppy disk drive that allows you to play back MIDI song data in a variety of formats--including SMF 0 and 1, DOC, and Disklavier--and gives you the benefit of unlimited storage for your original musical compositions.

The PSR-540PC provides a wide range of instruments to match any musical style. It has 215 panel voices, as well as 480 XG voices and 12 drum kits, and it features a stereo-sampled grand-piano voice.

The One Touch Setting (OTS) automatically configures keyboard parameters, such as melody voice selection, tempo, and accompaniment volume, to optimally match each music style you select.

Enhance the sound of any voice with the built-in digital effects processor. You can choose from a wide range of stunning effects, including reverbs, choruses, and delays.

The PSR-540PC is equipped with a 16-track sequencer. Up to 16 instrument parts are available for creating full-fledged songs. Five demo songs are included for your listening pleasure.

Expand your musical possibilities by connecting the keyboard to external MIDI devices or even to a personal computer. The PSR-540PC has a built-in PC interface allowing you to take advantage of the vast amount of music software and MIDI files available on the market and online.

More than 100 fully arranged musical styles are provided to back up your musical performance. Each style has its own unique intro, main A/B variations, and ending, as well as four fill-in patterns for added musical expression. For playing piano melodies, specially designed pianist styles are included. In addition, the PSR-540PC provides several custom styles. All pianist styles provide full left-hand accompaniment using single-finger chords.

The software package includes Stenberg Cubasis for editing, computer playback, and notation. Jump Music Piano Discovery teaches piano skills in an interactive setting.

The PSR-540PC comes with an AC Adapter.
