I've been a home theatre enthusiast for a long time now. Not many showrooms have this baby on demo and I've read a lot of reviews on the Z11. I decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did! I've had yamaha's all my life and my previous amp (RX-V1700) was no light weight but compared to the Z11 sonically, it's night and day. Zll is simply crystal clear on both 2-channel stereo mode and obviously pure direct whilst the 1700 was lacking the liveliness in pure direct and 2-channel was average. Movie mode is very clear too and I think the Thx mode helps the transition of movie soundtracks optimised for the home.

I purchased this receiver a few months ago. I wanted to get used to it before writing a review. I own several stereos from various makers but this is the tops! There is all most nothing that this receiver cannot do.

It includes a very simple remote for those that are easily confused by remote controls...as well as a full feature remote that automatically lights itself when you/your hand get near it (nice in a dark room!). Want to access your RX-Z11 via your laptop? no problem - just connect the receiver to your network/laptop!

My only objection is that I do use all of the speaker connections in the back and find it a bit tough to squeeze everything into the tight connection room they give you on the back of the receiver (even when using banana plugs).

I feel that the Yamaha RX-Z11 is THE best receiver on the market bar none!

This critter is not for the technologically challenged! The remote is a great improvement over the one provided with the RX-Z9; but there are so many features to be learned that it can be daunting. However, for me, that's part of the fun! Sound quality is incredible and the feature range allows for customization to virtually any room.

This is currently the be all end all in sound. New video processors come and go but the sound of the Z-11 is beyond anything else and likely will remain so for many years to come. I've only got 5.1 of the possible 11.2 setup and everyone who comes over comments on the amazing sound - especially during movies! It doesn't matter if it is Pavarotti, Lady Gaga, or Frank Sinatra it sounds amazing on this!

Also in love with this AV receiver, I ordered it when arrived to 2499 price. I live in Argentina and I brought to my country, damaged right channel and without warranty.
