Very easy to install on YSP-800 unit. One problem though; when I purchased the YSP-800 unit, it should've came with screws on the back of the unit to be used in conjuction with the SPM-K8 bracket. I had to look at different hardwares stores to find screws that would actually fit the bracket and the YSP-800. So make sure that when you purchase the YSP-800, make sure it has the screws. And if you dont know what I am talking about you will because all the screw holes are supposed to have the screws when you purchase the YSP-800.

If you want to string wires and knock holes in walls etc. then go the real deal route. But if you want to have very good sound, with partial surround then go this route by all means. One of the reasons I bought this speaker and the subwoofer that goes with it is because of the "target" capability the speaker has. Our house lends itself to hearing the TV better in the office or master bedroom than in the family room. The target function cuts down on the acoustic problem hugely. The hook up was quick easy and no frustration. We ran the matching subwoofer off the speaker and it makes a great set. I also liked the fact the speaker itself is fairly unobtrusive if you have to set it somewhere other than on the TV stand as we did. For the money it is a great buy.
