First of all, WOW! I have been a Warwick fan for two years and I was blown away when I got this. While I am relatively new to the bass, I was amazed at the quality, tone, and craftsmanship of this bass. As a long time Casiopea fan, and a fan of its original bassist Tetsuo Sakurai, I have long been familiar with the 'Broad Bass' sound. While this is the first Broad Bass I have ever owned, I got a sense of the phenomenal heritage Yamaha's workhouse bass has made in the hands of Tetsuo Sakurai and Nathan East.

FIrst, the tone on this thing is a piano-like quality with amazing sustain; and, there is a diversity of tones. This thing has a solid build - not too heavy, not too light- with a 'quarter-sewn' neck which gives this bass a very rigid, solid feel that is really able to channel tone. The 3-piece spline body places the bridge on the center slab -with the neck- which is connected to the 'wings' of the body through maple slabs (thus spline joint), which channels the tone through the body without the dimming caused by glue (a criticism of multi-piece bodies).

I can write all day. Just know that the picture does not give this thing justice.. Coming off an original series 2006 German Warwick Corvette Standard, I was skeptical whether this instrument would give me the same pride and joy. I was was totally wrong; I am a Yamaha convert!!!!!! Value for the dollar, this thing is a steal (should be illegal in all honesty).

The gig-bag is high quality and comes with a velcro strap to wrap around the neck on the inside. This is very handy if you ever had the terror of seeing your bass fall out of the gig bag only to neck-plant.

Addendum: My amp is the new Fender Rumble V3 25watt, so when I say the sound is bad ass....I am not kidding. It sounds even amazing in my Sennheiser 280HD headphones!!!!!
