VERY GOOD and AVAILABLE,
This review is from: Yamaha XJ650 & 750 '80'84 (Owners' Workshop Manual) (Paperback)
This is a very good book for my 1982 Yamaha XJ750-r. It is one of the few I found that were available. Many illustrations with a down to earth HOWTO approach. I like it.

The help I needed for my bike,

I own a 1982 Yamaha 750 Maxin. I got it used, with no manual. So I went to Amazon.com, found the right manual and got it. This book saved me an unknown amount of time searching for the 1 wire that caused the problem. The schematic was very easy to follow and I also discovered that my tire pressurewas wrong. A great price for a priceless manual. At least for me.

Haynes manuals are not as good as a factory service manual, but hey, what do you expect for $30. Seriously though, it is a great manual and it had all the necessary information to turn the non-running bike I purchased into a fully operational, fire-breathing monster. Haynes breaks each procedure down into small steps that even a novice can understand.

This book is adequate to help me work on my "new to me", 30 year old Yamaha. Good basic information, but it leaves me wanting more pictures and diagrams. This book covers many models, so the detail for my particular bike is sometimes lacking or hard to find. Note that this book is English, so you get spanners instead of wrenches and tyres instead of tires. There is an English to American translation guide though. I got a kick out of that!

The wait is worth it. The book was sold out but was printed and out within 12 days. The Haynes book is as always a great book. The writing is a little small but the information I need is all there.

This book is very helpful for the amatuer as well as good for reference for the professional mechanic. I found the illustrations to be especially helpfull when locating particular parts.
