High Sound Quality

Integrated System with Dual Front Speakers and Subwoofer

The YAS-101 soundbar combines two 2-1/2" cone speakers with a dual-driver (3" cones) subwoofer, driven by a digital amp with a total output of 120W. Although compact, its excellent structural design provides a large volume enclosure for both the speakers and subwoofer. The result is powerful, high quality sound that makes TV and movies much more enjoyable.

Dual-Driver Subwoofer Powerfully Reproduces Bass Sounds

Bass Reflex Port Contributes to Deeper, Richer Bass

The YAS-101 employs a bass reflex port that has a straight shape and adequate length to provide outstanding bass response together with the large volume cabinet. The duct outlet is shaped like a trumpet bell, which reduces wind noise for better sound clarity.

Saran Net Grille Enhances Sound Definition

The grille protecting the speaker unit is a saran net that allows unimpeded sound flow. All sounds, including vocals and music, are clear and pleasant to listen to.

Easy Installation and Convenient Placement

Slim, Low-Profile, One-Body Design Allows Positioning in Front of a TV

Slim, low profile design is easily wall mounted or placed in front of the TV so it straddles the stand.

With a height of only 4-1/4", the YAS-101 can be easily positioned in front of a HDTV so it straddles the TV stand. With the stand removed, the height can be adjusted. Because both speakers and subwoofers are built-in, it fits more easily into available space than separate components.

Can Also Be Hung on a Wall

If the TV is hanging on a wall, you can remove the stand and hang the YAS-101 on the wall as well.

IR flasher on the rear of the YAS-101 transmits the signal so TV operation isn't interrupted

Built-in IR Flasher for TV Remote Control Signal Transmission

Even if the YAS-101 blocks the TV's remote control signal, the IR flasher on the back of the soundbar transmits the signal to the TV so operation is not affected.

Learning Function Allows Operation with the TV Remote Control

The YAS-101 can "LEARN" your TV viewing remote control, so you can use the TV or Cable Box remote control to turn the YAS-101 on and off and to adjust its volume.

Easy-to-Operate Remote Control Supplied

The included YAS-101 remote is simple and easy to use. It lets you turn the power on and off, adjust the volume and do other basic operations, and even lets you switch the surround modes. Together with the Learning function, you can use either the TV viewing remote or the Yamaha remote for easy operation.

Got this to augment the sound coming from our 52" LCD TV, which has meager speakers. HD set top box and Blu-ray player connected to the Yamaha with optical toslink cables. For action movies the sound has good punch with the bass remaining tight and manages to fill all corners of a spacious open floor plan living room-kiitchen area. Shows with dialogue emphasis get the "voice" option and this works very well. Now, understand that this will not sound as good as a true home theater surround system consisting of a receiver/amplifier, 5 or 7 speakers and a subwoofer; but for a simple, elegant setup, the Yamaha performs admirably. Highly recommended.

I won this sound bar through a facebook drawing. I already have a very nice Yamaha surround system in my house, so I thought I should give this sound bar to my parents who's TV has very poor sound. I was impressed with how well the sound bar filled the room with quality sound. This is probably the easiest componet I have ever connected to a TV. The sound is great, the product looks great, everything you would expect from Yamaha. It make you fill like you are in a room with an actual 5 speaker surround system. Me and my parents love it.

i love these speakers! people will complain about the base but there is a port to attach an additional sub woofer if needed. the sound is pure and the uni volume means no more changing the volume when you station goes to commercial. it fills my room with sound and no matter where i sit it feels like i am in front of them. i love that there is no giant sub woofer next to it as it took up space like my last sound bar. it is a great buy for the money and easy hook up.
