The Yamaha YHT-100 is a complete home theater system with a 5.1-channel receiver, a voice-matched speaker system (with four main speakers and a center speaker), and a powered subwoofer. The receiver features five-channel discrete amplification (75 watts x 5) to provide the cleanest sound possible on all channels, along with decoding for DTS, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Pro Logic II sound. The unit's 32-bit Cinema DSP processing projects three sound fields: a presence field in the front and two surround-sound fields in the left and right rear for powerful, realistic 3-D soundscapes. In addition, the device includes Silent Cinema, a variation of Cinema DSP technology that allows you to listen to movies and other multichannel sources using stereo headphones. Its total of 21 Cinema-DSP surround modes gives you the versatility to find a sound mode for every media type. The receiver also employs a high-performance 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter to perform accurate sound field reproduction for outstanding separation and precise musical delineation.

The acoustic suspension speakers feature dual 2-inch tall-range cones, with magnetic shielding that lets you place any unit on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture via stray magnetic fields. The speakers deliver a frequency response of 100 Hz to 30 kHz (75 Hz to 30 kHz for the center speaker). The Advanced YST subwoofer offers a powerful bass response with its 6-1/2-inch multirange driver. Powered at 100 watts, the subwoofer has a frequency response of 30 to 200 Hz. The system includes four video inputs, two digital inputs, two audio inputs and one output, an A-B speaker output, and a subwoofer output, plus it comes with a preset remote control.

I haven't found a single complaint with this item. Excellent sound quality at low and high volume, Dolby 5.1 AND DTS compatible, easy to setup, easy to use, decent sized speakers (so the wife doesn't go nuts) it's definitely a rock-solid mid-level system.
