Connect to the HTR-3063 via Bluetooth with the YBA-10
or connect your iPod/iPhone with the YDS-12

Expand Your Yamaha System with Convenient Connectivity
The optional YDS-12 Universal Dock lets you connect your iPod or iPhone to the receiver. And the YDS-12 is "Works with iPhone"-certified, so you can get the most out of your iPhone music library with zero hassles.

The optional YBA-10 Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver docks to the receiver and supports A2DP stereo audio streaming, so users can enjoy music wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, Windows PCs, and Macs.

The HTR-3063 features HDMI repeater and 3D capabilities

1080p-Compatible HDMI Repeater with 3D
The Yamaha HTR-3063 has HDMI repeater functionality, with 4 inputs and 1 output, ready to pass content from all your high-definition sources to your HDTV. And thanks to the latest HDMI technology, the HTR-3063 is HDMI 3D-ready with a simple firmware upgrade--making you ready for the next generation of "next generation" content.

The HTR-3063 Supports Deep Color (30/36-bit) Transmission
The Yamaha HTR-3063 supports the latest HDMI 30- and 36-bit color depths, improved from the 24-bit depth of previous versions. This "Deep Color" allows the rendering of billions of colors for far greater accuracy. Colors are so vivid they seem to jump off the screen, with perfectly smooth tonal transitions and ultra-fine gradations between colors. It also enables many times more shades of gray, for higher contrast ratio.

Three New Volume Controls
The HTR-3063 has three new volume features. Volume Trim adjusts the volume of every input to normalize your volume across all your connected sources. Initial Volume allows you to tune to a preset volume level every time your receiver is turned on. Max Volume lets you set your own maximum volume, to help prevent "blowing out" smaller speakers (like satellite speakers).

SCENE buttons automatically launch play
of the source controlled by that button

SCENE: A New Level of Operating Ease
Four SCENE buttons make operating the receiver easier than ever. They are initially set to default settings for DVD Viewing, Disc Listening, TV Viewing and Radio Listening. Pressing a SCENE button automatically launches a number of operations that initiate play of the source controlled by that button. Other SCENE settings are also available, such as iPod Listening, XM Listening, TV Sports Viewing and Action Game Playing. Browsing and selecting the settings is quickly accomplished by rotating the Input knob and watching the on-screen display. The settings can be selected for one-time use, or they can replace the original default settings. You can even change the SCENE names for convenience.

Audio Delay Compensation Keeps Your Experience On Track
The latest display devices perform complex internal processing, causing time lag in the video signal. It is a small difference, but because the audio arrives first, the viewer may feel that something is not natural. The Audio Delay function for adjusting Lip-Sync matches the audio to the timing of the output of the video on the screen.

Surround Realism

CINEMA DSP Digital for Enhanced Surround Realism
Conventional multi-channel audio reproduction systems base their sound on Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, using matrix and steering technologies to create surround sound effects. Yamaha CINEMA DSP is much more advanced, actually creating richly realized independent sound fields that envelop you in an unmatched surround sound experience. With dialogue, music and effects ideally located in these separate sound fields, you will hear sound with accurate placement, smooth movement, exceptional clarity and richness, and startlingly realistic presence. It will seem as if the walls of your room have disappeared and you are in the middle of your own immense theater.

Adaptive DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
Yamaha's Adaptive DRC technology automatically adjusts the dynamic range of the sound according to the volume that is selected. Adaptive DRC refines the dynamic range parameters to make low volume sounds easier to hear (narrower dynamic range) while retaining the massiveness felt during high volume (wider dynamic range). And because our ears lose sensitivity to low and high sounds as volume decreases, it continually adjusts these frequency ranges according to the volume and to the input signal level.

Large scale surround
in your headphones

SILENT CINEMA and Virtual CINEMA DSP
SILENT CINEMA makes it possible to hear large-scale surround sound through ordinary headphones! This is a variation of CINEMA DSP technology that Yamaha developed to let you listen in private to movies and other multi-channel sources for hours without listening fatigue. Virtual CINEMA DSP lets you enjoy the effects of CINEMA DSP surround sound without using surround speakers (handy for use in custom installations where some rooms don't have surround speakers). It can be used with the front / center / presence speakers or even with just the two front left and right speakers.

Compressed Music Enhancer Refreshes Your Music
Yamaha employs sophisticated digital signal processing with exclusive algorithms to enable playback that improves the performance of compressed music formats, including MP3 and WMA. With the Compressed Music Enhancer, highs and especially lows are richer and smoother, bringing music back to life to be as close to the original as possible.

The sound from this system is great.

The system sounds great even with the cheap speaker wire but I'm hoping to get a better sound once I get the new wire.

When I saw this receiver in the store, and then looked at the price (when compared to other "comparable" systems), I assumed it was going to sound like a tin-can. I'm so glad I was wrong...!

The receiver itself has a wealth of features, bells, and whistles. If you will be listening to your iPod through the system, go ahead and spend the money on the dock. The sound quality is excellent and you can control the iPod via Yamaha's excellent remote. One of my favorite features (being a classical musician/pianist) is that you can choose a sound mode that makes your music sound as if it's being heard in two of the best concert halls in Europe (Munich/ der Musikverein in Vienna), and some famous/typical American venues (The Roxy Theatre, The Bottom Line, Chamber, Cellar Club, etc...). It's really a neat effect!

I like that I can run all the HDMI signals from my DVD player, TV box, etc... through the receiver, so I never have to switch inputs on my TV, or run 10 different cords up behind the wall! The receiver does all the work of switching inputs-- you can even select a different audio input to pair with your HDMI signal just in case (like with a DVI to HDMI cable from your computer) there is a separate audio source.

If I had to brag on just ONE thing about the system, It would be: The subwoofer. The speakers that come with the system give a clear upper range, but if you were relying on them for the bass frequencies, you'd return the whole system the same day you bought it. Enter: the subwoofer... This speaker can punch out the lowest lows, even at the lowest volumes. Don't let the size fool you, either! It will fill your whole room with great, booming, clear bass!

I chose this receiver because it had the four HDMI inputs and I had a similar model for 6 years that served me well until one too many moves caused it to go out. This receiver has all of the functionality that I was looking for in a solid, but still affordable receiver.

The sound quality is great on movies and games, but I get a small amount of static when I watch TV on it. I believe that is caused by my cable box, but I have yet to diagnose that problem fully.

I have an apartment, so 500 watts is more than enough to fill the room with great sound, and I'm not a picky sound person to start with. This receiver, for the money, is a great deal and doesn't need the frills of Netflix streaming, wireless speakers, etc.

I cannot believe I was able to buy a surround sound system with so many amazing features for this low price! The speakers have a really nice design, and the receiver has so many audio modes. Good amount of inputs and it is very capable of superb quality HD sound. I am completely satisfied with this product, it was well worth the money.

I was originally looking for one of the Blu-ray HTIB systems for under $300 and the Best Buy rep steered me to this impressive sounding Home Theater system. While their was no Blu-ray player, the receiver was far superior to anything that came with a Blu-ray player. Better off spending on a separate Blu-ray player later. For the price, this system delivers a great sound and the powered sub sealed the deal. I was not impressed with the puny subwoofers that were on the Samsung Blu-ray HTIB that I was looking at. If you are on a budget and can't spend $600-$800 on a top quality HTIB, then this system is for you. Awesome deal!

I needed a 5.1 system for my spare TV. I already had a $2000.00(+) system on my main TV and definitely did not want to sink that much into another system. I'll make this short and to the point...

    Pros

    - Cheap $$$
    - Powered Sub
    - HDMI switching
    - No issues with PS3 hookup (See Onkyo reviews about PS3 problems)
    - Plug & Play (I will read the manual eventually but its not really needed)

    Cons

    - Speaker wire, its not enough and way to thin, (buy a 100' roll from Home Depot for about $25)

Overall I have only had the system for a week but its worth the $$$. If your on a tight budget but want a decent system, this is the one.

This setup is great! It has great sound from the high to the lows and the various in betweens. For the price tag it is the best you can possible get for your buck. The fact that everything runs into this system then one hdmi goes to the tv is so much hassle free. Put the tv on scource One and you can literal swicth from your game console to your cable hook up, then to your Bluray player for a great movie experience.

The Only downside is the cheap antena that they provide with the system to pick up am and fm radio. But the fact that it has radio function built into with all of the other stuff was amazing. I reccomend if you want to use this for the radio portion then invest in a better antenna but besides that one small flaw.....

    Phenomenal!

I'm basically pleased with the unit. It does everything advertised and has more than enough punch for the average sized living room. Yes the wire is cheap, but adequate. I had to purchase more to reach all 4 corners. I guess the only two things that bug me are that my Sony Bravia remote doesn't like any of the codes for the unit. The best I can do with it is to turn the Yamaha off, but not back on. The other bug is the fact that you have to manually turn on and off the subwoofer unit with a push button on the backside of the woofer. The powered subwoofers in both my cars are controlled by the on/off switch on the master unit (my radio). How hard would this have been for Yamaha to include?
