The YHT-860 receiver delivers high power output to every channel -- two front, one center and two surround. The receiver also offers additional power output, making it possible to expand your system with an additional speaker for 6.1 surround. In any situation, the YHT-860 delivers more than enough power to fill even the largest room in the house with vibrant music and sound effects.

The YHT-860 receiver uses extremely high performance 193kHz/24-Bit DACs for all six channels. The receiver includes five-channel discrete amplification, Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) amplifier design concept that ensures the highest signal purity, and Quad-Field Cinema Digital Sound Field Processing, or DSP, Yamaha's way of recreating the ambiance of a stadium, a concert hall or an intimate club in the comfort of your own home. Also included are 14 surround programs and Silent Cinema, Yamaha's exclusive technology that allows private listening enjoyment of multi-channel music or movie sound, including Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround, through ordinary headphones. The system delivers high power to six channels and provides Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24 decoding. Being XM satellite radio ready means that with an addition of an XM Connect and Play and XM subscription, you can tune into your favorite XM broadcasts. With the YHT-860, discrete power transistors rather than chips are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible.
