The YPT410 has separate woofers and tweeters to deliver sounds with clarity and precision for more lifelike instrument voices. A special port on each speaker also adds a powerful impact to bass sound reproduction, and the true stereo adds realistic character and spatial depth. Its Digital Signal Processing (DSP) enhances sound quality with sophisticated digital effects like Harmony, Reverb & Chorus. The YPT410 includes Yamaha's Advanced Wave Memory (AWM) technology, which helps it delivers amazingly realistic sound.
Computer Connectivity: USB and Flash ROM
The YPT410 comes with 30 built-in songs, plus 70 more on an included CD-ROM, as well as an interactive lesson system, divided into left and right hand parts, for learning them. In addition, you have the ability to connect to a computer via USB, download more songs from the Internet into the internal Flash ROM (PC only), and use all of the Yamaha Education Suite features to master them. Yamaha makes it easy to get connected with the new PC button. Now, instead of wading through function menus and fighting through a maze of selections, one button is your expressway to music on the web and your computer. Once connected, you can play your songs into the computer (PC and Mac), edit them if necessary, and e-mail them to your friends and family. And, with General MIDI (GM) and XGlite compatibility, song data always plays back with the correct sounds.

6-Track Sequencer
Imagine capturing your child's first performance or writing and recording your own songs. With the YPT410, you have the equivalent of a built-in multitrack recorder to record one or multiple instrument parts at a time and assign each part to a different track. Six tracks are provided to accommodate sophisticated melodies, chord accompaniment, and rhythm parts.
Music Finder
Complete keyboard setups by song title. The keyboard selects an appropriate voice for the right hand melody, the correct musical style and the correct tempo. Simply call up a song title and start playing.
One Touch Setting (OTS)
This provides you with a recommended voice with effects for each style. For example, on a jazz style OTS might be piano, for a Latin style it might be acoustic guitar and for a rock style it might be a guitar with overdrive etc.
Registration Memory
Set the keyboard up just the way you like and take a digital snapshot by memorizing it to one of the Registration buttons. Load and save up to 16 Registrations to User memory. The Registration buttons are conveniently located just above the keyboard.
Performance Assistant Technology
Performance assistant technology is a feature from Yamaha that guarantees that you can't play a wrong note or chord. Here's how it works. Select a song, press the Performance Assistant button, and play the keyboard any notes you like. Every note you play will fit the music. If you move up the keyboard, the pitch goes up. If you move down, the pitch goes down. Play a perfect arpeggio, or play chords in time with the music, or really go for it and play a solo. As long as performance assistant is on, you're on. Imagine being able to give a concert to your friends or relatives the very first day that you bring this remarkable keyboard home. With the YPT410 and performance assistant technology, you can! In addition to working with any of the internal songs with chords, this feature also works with XF MIDI files.
Easy Song Arranger
You can change the feel or arrangement of songs by simply pressing the Easy Song Arranger button, allowing you to re-mix any MIDI file. For example, you can try your favorite song with a Rock feel, Hip Hop, then Jazz. It's fast, powerful, and one-button simple.
Digital Music Notebook
Digital Music Notebook is a multimedia Internet service that enables you to preview, purchase, download, and print learn-to-play music books and chart-topping sheet music. From scales to chords to your favorite riffs, Digital Music Notebook is jam-packed with all the secrets you need to master your instrument. Add accompaniments, record and mix yourself, sing karaoke with friends, and learn new techniques while having a blast—Digital Music Notebook delivers everything you need to bring music alive.
Master EQ
Five different master equalizer (EQ) settings are provided to give you the best possible sound when listening through different reproduction systems—the instrument's internal speakers, headphones, or an external speaker system. Either way, you're in control.

Realistic Sounding Voices
The YPT410 comes equipped with 116 panel voices, 12 drum/SFX kits, 361 XGlite voices, plus 15 arpeggio voices. Included in this selection is stereo-sampled Piano, a selection of Sweet! Voices including Trumpet, Flute, Pan Flute, Soprano & Tenor Saxes and Cool! Voices ,including Galaxy Electric Piano, Organ and Rotor Organ. Sweet! Voices reproduce all the natural expression and vibrato of their respective acoustic instruments whereas Cool! Voices feature long samples of electronically amplified instruments. Dual Mode allows you to combine two voices across the keyboard at the same time. Split Mode allows you to select a different voice for each hand. The combinations are limited only by your imagination.
Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.)
The YPT410 has 30 built-in songs plus 70 more on the included CD-ROM for you to learn to play using the Yamaha Education Suite. The songs are separated into left and right hand parts, providing 7 levels of lessons plus a convenient chord dictionary. There are three keyboard lessons for each hand:
32-Note Polyphony and 16-Part Multi-Timbrel
In electronic keyboards, the more sounds made at the same time (polyphony), the more memory is needed. Obviously, more is always better, because too little polyphony can cause dropouts in dense passages of music. The YPT410 has 32 notes of polyphony and will play back 16 different parts or sounds at once (16-part multi timbrel); enough for the most demanding needs.
Digital Effects
The YPT410 takes full advantage of Yamaha's DSP know-how. It gives you an extensive range of 9 top-quality reverb effects that simulate playing in everything from a small room to a large spacious concert hall and 4 chorus effects that add richness to electric pianos and guitars in particular. You'll also find 26 types of Harmony effects for your melody part and 50 different Arpeggio patterns. Similar to the arpeggio functions provided on some synthesizers, this function automatically produces arpeggios (broken chords) when you simply play the appropriate notes on the keyboard. A variety of arpeggios can be produced by changing your fingering or the arpeggio type.
Metronome
Just what the teacher ordered. A fully adjustable metronome is just a button push away.
Auto Accompaniment Styles
In addition to the 100 songs mentioned above, the YPT410 also has auto accompaniment styles that follow your playing. Simply select a style of music from the 155 built-in Styles (example Rock), play a single note or chord on the left side of the keyboard, and play your melody on the right side. The YPT410 will create a backup band (bass, drums, strings, guitar etc.) and follow you through the song. You can play your songs and try different genres of music. And if you can't find the right style for your song, simply go to Yamaha's website to preview from the selections, purchase, and transfer one to your keyboard (PC only).

Nice Keyboard - USB Drivers for Mac?,
By
This review is from: Yamaha YPT-410 61 Full-Size Touch Keyboard Bundle - Professional Headphones, Keyboard Stand, and Power Supply (Electronics)
Very nice keyboard for the price. Great sounds. However, I needed to hook up the USB/MIDI to my Mac and it didn't come with any Mac drivers, just drivers for Windows. User manual doesn't mention Mac at all. I searched the web and couldn't find anything - Yamaha's support pages are horrible. Finally found a drivers page for a different Yamaha keyboard (PSR-295) and thought I would try the Mac drivers offered there. Crossed my fingers and... IT WORKED! Here is the link so others don't have to go through my pain:

This keyboard works great. It has many features and true Yamaha voices. I love it. Only thing is the stand that is not from YAMAHA so it does not fit axatly as it should be. Other than that, it is perfect.

This review is from: Yamaha YPT-410 61 Full-Size Touch Keyboard Bundle - Professional Headphones, Keyboard Stand, and Power Supply (Electronics)
First, I am not a professional musician. But I love music, and have a pretty good ear. This keyboard sounds just fine in it's default "Yamaha Piano" mode. However many of the other simulated instruments (called "voices") seem to be very much out of key. For example, a simple C-Major chord in the "church organ" voice actually hurts my ears. Playing the C and E notes together in this voice results in an obvious beat. Many of the voices that I would like to use have this problem, while others are OK. For example, the "chapel organ" C-Major chord sounds just fine. In addition, many of the simulated instruments do not sound much like the instrument they are imitating. Thus, to me none of the guitar options sound like a guitar.
The built-in speakers have a definite resonance point. This makes certain notes seem much louder. This is more obvious when using some of the other "voices" than it is in the "Yamaha Piano" mode. The display panel is much too small for my older eyes. Using it to learn to play is also pretty useless, as it only displays one or two notes of the song at a time. It is really difficult to play when you can't see what is coming up, and the effort is reduced to basically an exercise in reaction time. The plastic sheet music stand could have used a more defined lip at the bottom to keep pages in music books held open. I have resorted to setting something on the music stand in front of the pages. As other reviewers have noted, the included keyboard stand does not fit the keyboard, nor is it adjustable for height. It is too high to use with any standard chair, and too low for me to use while standing. However Amazon is not the culprit here. The bundle is from Yamaha, and the stand is of their manufacture. I replaced it with On Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy Duty Folding Z Keyboard Stand ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LCRP14/ref=oss_product ). This stand also does not attach to the keyboard. However it is adjustable for both height and width, and will go down to a height that makes the keyboard comfortable when sitting on a standard office or kitchen chair. The keyboard seems pretty secure sitting on it. Bottom line - OK as a piano keyboard, so-so on the added bells and whistles. For the price, I am disappointed.
