This subwoofer pairs perfectly with the Yamaha YSP-4000BL Digital Sound Projector to provide incredible sound for a home theater. The setup for the YSP-4000 will automatically do the crossover for the subwoofer. Using the enclosed Yamaha link cable, the subwoofer will automatically be turned on and off with the YSP-4000. I can and do strongly recommend this combination for a home theater that not only sounds great buts looks good as well.

This little unit rocks. It is low profile, looks great, and fits into a narrow space. Don't plan on stacking components on top of it even though you may be tempted, as the rumbling of the bass can disrupt other components. You can also place this vertically. Like the other reviewer, it is perfect with the ysp-4000 as the sync cable turns it off and on with the main speaker. I think other yamaha components may have this also.

Don't let the size of this thing fool you. I have 6 in-wall mounted speakers that sounded good but no bass. This thing brought my system to life. I only have it turned up halfway. It also looks good on the floor under my stereo.

Am not an "audio nut"....I just like good sound out of our system.... so pleae take these words with an appropriate "grain of salt". This Yamaha sub woofer was a snap even for a novice like me to install...and it just fit into the space alloted to it.
The sound it puts out is as promised...very nice bass ....
On the other hand, this unit would not win a "Miss AMerica" contest when it comes to looks and there are many more attractive sub woofers out there to choose from.
However, I didn't buy this one for it's sleek and suave appearance...just for the sound it puts out and the price point to achieve that sound. On that counts, this ugly duckling "quacks" just right.

I bought this gem to integrate into my computer sound system, along with my M-Audio AV-40 monitors, and I couldn't be happier. It fits perfectly under my bed and brings a full richness to the sound below the 85hz limit of my speakers. It can also pack a punch to rock the house if that's what you're looking for, which is surprising for a sub that's so small. The best part is it fits perfectly under my bed, which is right next to my computer desk, and the price is right for a quality component like this.

I have a yamaha reciever and bought this because the bookshelf bose weren't cutting it. This sub definately makes a difference. The only complaint I have is that the additional cable to signal power off does not work with my stereo. You'd think yamaha would be compatible with yamaha...not always true. Not a big deal, but keeps me from giving it 5 stars. I would not buy the lower wattage sub-woofer as I usually have this one maxed out. This could be due to the fact that it is on a shelf and not on the floor. Overall this sounds great and completely changes the way I listen to music and entertainment. I do not have surround, 2.1 only.

Good subwoofer that will not empty your wallet. It's wide rectangular shape makes it easy to simply add to the lowest shelves of your home entertainment system. Highly recommend this subwoofer for smaller to mid-sized rooms.

I've had this sub for a few months now and been very happy with it. It is connected to a Yamaha receiver, so hook-up was a breeze. I especially like the compact size, it fits under a chair easily. I have cranked it pretty loud with very little distortion. For the price this has been a great buy.

I bought this subwoofer to replace a powered subwoofer that I had. The latter had to be turned on manually, or plugged into a swithched AC outlet at the back of a receiver. My new Yamaha receiver does not have a swithched AC outlet, but is equipped with a system control cable port that, when attached to a corresponding port on the subwoofer, will turn on the subwoofer. I am not an audiophile, but I like this subwoofer's performance and think that it is superior to my old one.

The Yamaha YST-FSW150 is a really nice subwoofer with powerful sound in a small / slim design. There are certainly more powerful options out there but none that compare in size and punch. If you are looking for a slim design subwoofer this should be your only choice. I installed this sub to replace a large sony model as part of my Yamaha surround system (receiver, in wall & in ceiling speakers) This sub gives me more deep bass than the sony I had and it's half the size at least. It fits directly under my entertainment center, and is virtually invisible with my set up - if space is a concern or you do not like the sight of a large sub box sitting in your entertainment space, then this Yamaha is your solution.
