I purchased a guitar package which included a digital tuner called Qwik Tune. That tuner was horrible!!! It was inconsistent and couldn't decide which note I was playing to even tune it. After much frustration, I finally gave up and bought the Yamaha YT-250 Tuner. It works GREAT for my acoustic guitar. It takes me less than a minute to tune my guitar. (and I'm a complete beginner) I love it. It is totally worth it.

It tunes mostly everything. I play bass trombone, and it sometimes can tune notes in the lower registers, but otherwise it tunes great.
