high quality stainless steel,

The salad scissors consist of a weighty stainless steel, which is reassuring, since so many salad tongs out there are flimsy. The balance works so that you don't have to worry about the scissors falling out of the bowl. They look nice enough to bring out for more formal occasions.

Best salad server I have ever owned! This is a heavy, quality product. I bought it for a gift, and then could not give it away!!! I just love this product - you won't be sorry purchasing this for yourself or someone else.

After a lot of research, I went with this Yamazaki salad tong and am very happy that I did. The pivot is in the right place so that not too much finger motion results in a large tong action - this means that you can open and close your hand a natural amount, and the tongs will open and close something like twice the distance that you've spread the handles. The other thing that's nice, is the tong side is a lot heavier than the handle side, so once you let it go in the salad bowl you never have to worry about it not falling the right way or the right direction - it always goes tong side down and right into the salad bowl without having to worry that it will tip over or out. One reviewer mentioned that the metal thickness of the handles is thin - I do agree with this, but how hard do you squeeze tongs when picking up salad? Lettuce is so compressible that just a very, very little compressive force is needed on the finger holes to put enough force on the salad so that you don't drop any. Overall a very nice looking, sleek design that works very effectively. Also use then to pick up corn on the cob out of boiling water. They seem like they will hold-up great over the years.
