The Bolo pattern, classy and bold, suits everyday as well as formal dining occasions. This 42-piece set includes eight five-piece place settings and a large serving fork and spoon. Made of 18/8 stainless steel, the flatware features satin-finish handles and lightly polished business ends.

Conveniently boxed in a 12-1/4-by-16-inch wooden storage tray, the set includes eight of each of the following: 9-1/4-inch dinner knife, 7-3/4-inch dinner fork, 7-3/4-inch soup spoon, 6-1/2-inch teaspoon, and 7-1/4-inch salad fork. Rounding off the collection is the hostess set, featuring a 9-inch three-tined serving fork for cold meats and a 9-inch generously proportioned serving spoon. The handsomely balanced knives feature superior one-piece construction with hollow handles and high-carbon cutlery steel edges. While Yamazaki approves the use of a dishwasher for cleaning the flatware, the company recommends against dishwashing compounds that contain lemon and suggests drying the flatware by hand to prevent spotting. The company known as Yamazaki Tableware Inc. began as a family business in 1918 producing metal items crafted of copper, silver and brass. In 1932 they pioneered the production of stainless steel flatware, functioning as the factory of choice for many flatware companies. In 1980, Yamazaki introduced their own line of carefully designed stainless steel flatware under the Yamazaki brand.

We got this set for our wedding- and it is great! Each piece is well weighted and heavy duty. We have been putting the pieces in the dishwasher and haven't had any problem with the finish on them - they still look as great as the first day we got them. My only complaint is about the wooden tray...our first box turned out fine, but our second box we bought had a tray that was messed up in the box and had to be put back together. I have a friend who had gotten 3 different sets with messed up wooden trays. Overall, though, I think this is a high quality product!

We really liked how this product looked in the picture and were impressed by the positive reviews on amazon. It looked quite good out of the box too, and we immediately thought it would be perfect for everyday wear. Now, "everyday wear" for me really means withstanding the dishwasher, and some of the pieces have done poorly in the dishwasher, showing signs of rust on several of the knives. The instructions warn you about using dishwasher soap with lemon in it (which we don't use) so it's a mystery about why they're rusting so fast. I think for the money, they really should be dishwasher safe. So, we're torn, because they look good and the weight is great for daily use, but having some of the pieces corrode after just a couple of weeks of use is upsetting. We're probably going to return them.

We recently purchased 24 place settings of this flatware and we are EXTREMELY happy with it! Not only does it look and feel great - it has been through the dishwasher and is still in perfect condition! Great deal! Unlike one of the prior reviews, all 3 of the wooden trays we received are in excellent condition as well!
