We got this set for our wedding- and it is great! Each piece is well weighted and heavy duty. We have been putting the pieces in the dishwasher and haven't had any problem with the finish on them - they still look as great as the first day we got them. My only complaint is about the wooden tray...our first box turned out fine, but our second box we bought had a tray that was messed up in the box and had to be put back together. I have a friend who had gotten 3 different sets with messed up wooden trays. Overall, though, I think this is a high quality product!

We really liked how this product looked in the picture and were impressed by the positive reviews on amazon. It looked quite good out of the box too, and we immediately thought it would be perfect for everyday wear. Now, "everyday wear" for me really means withstanding the dishwasher, and some of the pieces have done poorly in the dishwasher, showing signs of rust on several of the knives. The instructions warn you about using dishwasher soap with lemon in it (which we don't use) so it's a mystery about why they're rusting so fast. I think for the money, they really should be dishwasher safe. So, we're torn, because they look good and the weight is great for daily use, but having some of the pieces corrode after just a couple of weeks of use is upsetting. We're probably going to return them.

We recently purchased 24 place settings of this flatware and we are EXTREMELY happy with it! Not only does it look and feel great - it has been through the dishwasher and is still in perfect condition! Great deal! Unlike one of the prior reviews, all 3 of the wooden trays we received are in excellent condition as well!

This is really heavy duty stuff. No rust spots. Pretty shape, easy to hold. NO COMPLAINTS!

It's been a year since I bought this set, and I still smile a bit when I open up my silverware drawer. The finish on this flatware is beautiful. It's soft, shiny, and pearlescent. I love the shape of each piece.

I've been surprised how well the set has held up in the dishwasher. The luster has stayed, and although when scratches appear they're quite noticeable, I have had very few scratches appear.

The set would make a very fine gift. The presentation of it even in the packing deserves comment: each piece is individually wrapped and has a gold tie-off. The wooden box is excellent.

I'm thrilled that I bought this set. It makes me wish my silverware didn't have to live in a drawer.

The wooden box came apart in shipping but it went back together easily. Great value for money. NOTE: Table knives do not have serrated edges

We received this set as a wedding shower gift and loved it. Unfortunately after using it for only a month or so it was so badly rusted that I was embarassed to let anyone use them! Took it back to the store to exchange it because we love the look and feel of the set so much and after about a week, it's already rusting again. We are really dissapointed and will have to switch to a different brand. Stainless steel should not have to be scrubbed after every use to remove rust stains.

The product would get 5 stars if it weren't for the way it is packaged.

I have just received the Bolo flatware this week. It was sold by Amazon, LLC., and I received it with the wooden storage caddy damaged in shipment. The flatware is shipped with the utensils inside the caddy, and no matter how well the box is packaged, the bundles of flatware bounce around during parcel shipping, busting out the wooden dividers in the caddy. I contacted Amazon and all they did was send me another replacement Bolo flatware set, and it too arrived with the same damage, and I will be returning that set as well.

I have since contacted Yamizaki and explained the issue and they are aware of it. They are sending me a replacement tray free of charge. The woman on the phone said that in the future, these will no longer be sold with the caddies because of this shipping issue. The caddy is quite nice, hopefully they will let you mail in a certificate to claim it or something.

Since then, it appears that Amazon is now letting another company fulfill the Bolo flatware orders, probably so they don't have to deal with this issue any more.

Other than that, it looks great, and has a great feel to it, it is well balanced and just comfortable to use.

Nice style. Good weight. Great price on Friday Sale. Bought two sets. However, as others have noted, I do see occasional rust spots on the knives. A little polish and I am good to go. Yamazaki has a trade-up program I need to investigate.

I've owned the Yamazaki Bolo 42-piece flatware set for well over a year now, and I love it! Superior quality; doesn't bend or tarnish, and I haven't been a careful owner, either. I get compliments on the look and heavy/sturdy feel. Also comes in a nice looking wooden holder, if you don't already have one. Of course, they're not the cheapest set of flatware, but if you want to buy one set that will last, it's money that you will never regret having spent.
