Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Each piece of Yamazaki Solari flatware features a dramatic depression in the handle that adds a lively element to everyday dining. Bright as a mirror, the polished finish calls out the design’s simple but striking lines. Solari is crafted from 18/8 stainless steel with 18 percent chrome for corrosion-resistance and 8 percent nickel for luster. The knife blades are fashioned from high-carbon cutlery steel to retain their precise edges over time.

A versatile collection to have on hand, this 65-piece Solari dinnerware set includes place settings for 12. Each setting consists of a 7-inch salad fork, a 7-3/4-inch dinner fork, a 9-3/8-inch knife, a 7-1/2-inch soupspoon, and a 6-3/4-inch teaspoon. There is also a five-piece serving set--a serving spoon, a serving fork, a slotted spoon, a sugar spoon, and a butter knife. All pieces store tidily in a wooden storage caddy measuring 16-1/4 by 12-1/4 by 2-3/4 inches. As with its other patterns, Yamazaki backs Solari with a full lifetime warranty against defects. --Emily Bedard

1.0 out of 5 stars Not As Well Made As You Think, January 23, 2005
By
CTO (Lynchburg, VA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Yamazaki Solari 65-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set with Wooden Tray, Service for 12 (Kitchen)
We ordered a set of these thinking it was a bargain. However after just a week, the stainless coating on the knives is starting to come off and the knives vibrate if you tap them against the side of your hand. Also, these are not made in the Japan as you might think. They are made in China where the quality of stainless steel is poor! My advice to anyone that bought these is to send them back now while you still can. If you are contemplating buying this product don't! Yamazaki makes great flatware, but this line is not one of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Flatware Just Right - Buy it you will love it, December 16, 2004
This review is from: Yamazaki Solari 65-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set with Wooden Tray, Service for 12 (Kitchen)
This Flatware is way above average. It is nice and heavy. Perfectly balanced and feels right in your hand. Really is worth the retail price they have listed for it. Yamazaki makes the best silverware - many of their other patterns go for 50-100 per place setting. The silver is not overly fancy - but the pattern is graceful, modern and it looks great on the table. I am buying my second set of this flatware because my children have managed to loose more than half of my first set somewhere in my house. I can tell you it holds up very well, and the spoons are strong enough not to bend, even when using them to scoop out ice cream. I paid more than twice this price for my first set - grab the bargain - you won't be sorry

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Flatware Set, Contemporary Styling is Perfect, March 17, 2004
This review is from: Yamazaki Solari 65-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set with Wooden Tray, Service for 12 (Kitchen)
I love this flatware set. The styling is great, and the wooden holding tray holds everything neatly, and still manages to fit in my kitchen drawers. Definately a good buy.
