We ordered a set of these thinking it was a bargain. However after just a week, the stainless coating on the knives is starting to come off and the knives vibrate if you tap them against the side of your hand. Also, these are not made in the Japan as you might think. They are made in China where the quality of stainless steel is poor! My advice to anyone that bought these is to send them back now while you still can. If you are contemplating buying this product don't! Yamazaki makes great flatware, but this line is not one of them.

This Flatware is way above average. It is nice and heavy. Perfectly balanced and feels right in your hand. Really is worth the retail price they have listed for it. Yamazaki makes the best silverware - many of their other patterns go for 50-100 per place setting. The silver is not overly fancy - but the pattern is graceful, modern and it looks great on the table. I am buying my second set of this flatware because my children have managed to loose more than half of my first set somewhere in my house. I can tell you it holds up very well, and the spoons are strong enough not to bend, even when using them to scoop out ice cream. I paid more than twice this price for my first set - grab the bargain - you won't be sorry

I love this flatware set. The styling is great, and the wooden holding tray holds everything neatly, and still manages to fit in my kitchen drawers. Definately a good buy.

I have been very unsatisfied with this flatware, particularly the knives. After the first washing in the dishwasher, almost every knife had what appeared to be rust spots. Some of these "spots" came off but additional rust colored spots appeared when the knives were washed again. This set is not worth the money.

I read all the reviews before ordering this, all were positive, so I went ahead and ordered. When package arrived it was very heavy, and of course, so are all the pieces. The pieces all seem to be much bigger than normal.

I was very happy with my current set, but we had lost too many pieces. The salad fork in this new set was bigger than our current set's dinner fork! The tines on the forks seemed a bit big and blunt. Also, one thing they didn't show in the pictures but really seemed uncomfortable to me was the shape of the handles (from a side view). There is a big bend in the handle of every peice (except the knives) which just doesn't feel normal. I'm not a little person, I'm 6'1", 290 lbs., so its not that I have dainty hands.

If interested in buying this set, try to find a store to test the size and feel before placing order.

The flatware set looks great and feels right, with a good heft.

The wooden drawer liner came a bit damaged, I called Yamazaki and they are shipping me a replacement. The spoons and forks can be nicely stacked. The wooden caddy is also very nice. I was buying it along with other things and I could apply the $25 off $125 coupon from amazon, which made this piece all the more affordable.

I think as long as as you are paying around $1 for each piece its a good price, so at 69.99 for a 65 piece set, its a great deal for this beautiful set

I just got my order in December and I just loved it!!! It is very well made and I am so happy I found this set. I shopped around our town and I couldn't find what I was looking for so I thought I would try Amazon.com and I found just what I wanted. I loved how they showed the measurements of the pieces so I could compare with what I had. This is a great buy. I never bought this brand before but I will definitely buy them again.

This set is great for the money. I looks as if I paid $600+ if this was in a store. Heavy & strong can scoop ice cream and not bend the spoon. the one thing I did not like is you need to hand wash the all of the knifes so they do not get little rust spots on them.That is why I only gave 4 stars over 5.

I am very pleased with the set. It is well balanced. I like the size and feel of it. It has shown a few rust spots after going through the dish washer, but they come off as easily as water spots. I have had mine about 6 months and it does not show excessive wear. It may not be something you will pass down to your grand kids, but it is a very nice servicable set that should last several years and still look nice.

Reading some recent reviews, it seems that people are used to using lower quality dinnerware. I have been using this set for a couple months without any problems. The pieces are polished stainless steel, which will have water spots when you remove them from the dishwasher. You just need to take a rag and wipe them off. You should NEVER use any detergent with a citrus additive on stainless steel, it will cause corosion. The size and weight are a sign of quality because of the 18/8 steel, you do not have to worry about the spoon bending when scooping cold ice cream. You also dont have to worry about the tips of the forks being bent out of alignment. I also like that the forks and spoons stack on each other and keep the drawer looking neat.

Update, several years later. Still using the set and occasionally give them a polish by hand to make them look new. To date, none of the spoons or forks have bent out of their original position.
