Yamazaki Cache Gold Accent 5-piece Place Setting

We refurnished our home with new Aico (Chateau collection) furniture and this set caught my eye because of amazing looks. Ordered a 10 place setting but after receiving and holding it first time in my hand felt like paper. I know I am exaggerating but folks it's really light for a prime time (formal) dinner setting. If you buying for looks, I must say go for it, you will be very happy as you will not see anything like this but usage may be different issue.

I just wanted to make sure that you're aware of it before you order one - I wish I knew:-). Usage and preference is case to case basis and in my case I needed something heavy (personal choice). This being from Market place, although Amazon guarantees total satisfaction, but your return may shave off shipping and restocking from your initial investment.

These are just my 2c from my experience and hope you'll find something that you'll cherish for a long time including but not limited to passing on to your kids :-)

I added two more placew settings to my set. I just love this set and I always get compliments on it. No silver polishing. Dishwasher safe.

I bought some dishes with gold trim and wanted flatware with some gold on it, but not the all-gold stuff which I think looks tacky.

I fell in love with this pattern when I stumbled across a picture of it and was wowed by the design of the forks.

I have since bought four place settings and just love them. The pieces are a nice heavy weight and they are beautifully made. And in case you're wondering, the forks feel just fine to eat from.

I bought a place setting for my son, who is building his set of eight, and I think the styling is just exquisite! I love the weight and styling and was proud to give them as a gift.

This flatware is not weighty but it does look attractive on the table. I have Lenox Winter Greetings Christmas china that it looks nice with. The pictures are accurate. The forks are very different from others you see. Horchow and Neiman Marcus have this same pattern for a much higher price and the shipping and tax is high if you live in Texas. Other sites on-line can't compete with the amazon price.

The unique and complex forks are definitely the centerpiece of this collection.

The set I purchased had a splash of gold on the underside of one of the forks (oops).

In general it seems like the fork design makes it harder for the manufacture to polish all the tines so and in general, all the small spaces tend to be pretty rough.

I still like them overall in spite of their minor flaws.

I've had this silverware for about 15 years and it always helps create a most elegant dining experience. It never fails to elicit comments and inquiries from guests as to where they might be able to buy it.

What I have found most interesting through the years is the number of men who have positively commented on it. I generally haven't experienced men noticing things domestic, but this silverware service even catches the eye of the most domestically unobservant male.

I might add that the Amazon price of $40 for a 5-piece place setting is an amazing deal. When I first bought mine, the retail price was $120 for a 5-piece PS. I lucked out and bought my nine place settings at a great sale (50% off and one PS free for every 2 PS purchased) and I had a coupon thereby managing to get my price down to $35.00 per PS, which was a most excellent deal under the circumstances. I'll buy more PS at this $40 hard to come by price.

I hav this set as well, service for eight. I chose it over 15 years ago and I still get comments on it.

It is the most Unique and beautiful service I hav ever seen.

I looked and looked at silver, silver plate, etc. for my wedding set, but chose this. I even picked out my china to go with this service, when most people do it the other way around (most choose the china pattern, then flatware service to match the china pattern). I knew I would choose Noritake, but kept looking for a pattern that compliments this service. I wound up with "Sunswept", which is discontinued now, and it wasn't what I would hav chose had I not seen this service, but this service just steals the show, while complimenting the pattern at the same time.

If you are on the fence about this service, don't hesitate. After 40+ years of seeing thousands of service and china patterns I can honestly say I would choose this service all over again, no problem. It is stainless (with gold accents) and says it is dishwasher safe, but because of the gold I never put it in the dishwasher. It's so very easy to clean just with some warm, soapy water (I do the same with my china) and it is like the day I bought it still. Not being silver there's no polishing and that is another thing (I hav another antique set of silver I don't use much because of the polishing issue) that is a definite plus.

If you get to see this set in person you will love it..I hav not had a dinner party, get together, or formal occasion when I hav used this set that someone doesn't squeal qith delight or comment at my flatware.

This is a very pretty pattern and it goes beautifully with the dishes I bought it for. I especially love that it can be washed in the dishwasher. Yay! from my kids who have to clean up the kitchen after dinner. I am taking one star off my rating because this flatware is very light, not what I would expect from something with gold highlights and this much detail. Still, I love using it and would recommend it for anytime you want to spruce up your everyday or semi formal place settings. Not for really formal dinners, though.

We inherited some ornate china from my husbands mom that I never use because it's trimmed in gold. Very pretty but you must use ornate silverware to go with it. I wanted something to go with it but I didn't want to invest in gold silverware. This was perfect. It's not what I would call expensive stainless but it's very pretty..not really heavy in weight but enough so that it goes fine with the china.
I will only use it for special occasions but I am very happy with the purchase. My husband especially likes the tine design on the forks. Very nice.
