Ruth Sahanaya is a veteran Indonesian singer who has been singing since early 80's. For Indonesian singer, 20 some years in the music business and still can sell CD is no small feat. This CD however was produced in 1994 and is a compilation of Ruth first 3 albums, which sadly are her best effort to date.
The first song is "Kaulah Segalanya" (You Are My Everything). The song brought Ruth to Midnight Sun Song Festival in Findland in 1992 where she won the title "Grand Prix Winner". And the song really brought Ruth's status as one of the BEST in Indonesia. Her previous songs however are more upbeat such as "Astaga" (Surprise), "Tak Kuduga" (Don't Guess/Know), "Amburadul" (rough translation: Big Mess). Some of these songs do remind you of Janet Jackson's Rhytm Nation album.
Her albums following this compilation aren't as good as her earliest. But her voice and her excellent technique keep her fans for wanting more from her. The standout from this collection besides the ones mentioned above are: September Pagi (September Morning), Yang Terbaik (The Best), Memori (Memory).
She also had the honor of singing with Mario Frangoulis in one of his concert in Athen.
