Editorial Reviews

From the Author

This book is about Yankee Stadium, one of the remaining ball parks from baseball's early years. In an era of fabricated nostalgia, Yankee Stadium serves as a reminiscent reminder of the way baseball used to be. A night at Yankee Stadium is probably little different than one fifty years ago when Joe DiMaggio was terrorizing opposing American League pitchers.

This book is not about boring history or "who cares" trivia. It is a user's guide to Yankee Stadium written for you, the Yankee fan, to help you get the most out of your experience at the game. It will also help you leave with a few bucks left in your pocket. Whether it's a helpful tip on where to park your car, or a review of the "Yankee Stadium Beer Rules," you'll be coached, step by step, throughout the entire Yankee Stadium experience.

I hope you take this guide with you whenever you venture off to the Yankee Stadium. I also urge you to fill out the survey in the back of this book with your own ideas and tips on how to enjoy the Yankee Stadium experience, and send it to our PO Box address. Your unique perspective will help us to continually improve this guide and help fans enjoy their experience all the more.

As you join the three million plus fans who enter Yankee Stadium each summer, use this guide to its fullest and you'll be guaranteed a great time.

This guide does a great job of helping you plan and enjoy a trip to Yankee Stadium. Lots of tips on getting the best possible seats, as well as great historical information on the Stadium. Really fun to read and it fits in your pocket, so you can take it with you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Guide, May 29, 2003

This guide is excellent. Considering that I paid 20 times the price of the book for a single seat, it is certainly a bargain. The best part of the book, for me, was the text descriptions of the different sections. Although the seating diagram does not detail every section (e.g., sections 200-500 are not shown), they are listed in the text descriptions. The information about parking is great. Also about pre-game and post-game activities and timing is easily worth the price of the book.

The section on "Yankee slang" is good to know. The other tidbits are interesting.

If you are even considering a trip to Yankee Stadium, you must get this book. I might even do as the author suggests and take it with me to the stadium.
