They are very comfortable, and it makes sliding your shoes on and kicking them off so easy.

Now the try the shoes on and tweak a bit until they are comfortably tight, but you can still easily slide the shoes off.

The end piece actually locks down on the lace, so it doesn't flop around Here's what I don't like: 1.

I am a biologist and I wear my hiking boots a lot when I'm in the field. I have a pair of Men's Merrell Outland Mid Waterproof and if you read my review on those, you'll see that my big complaint is that they suck with conventional laces. The shoes are great, but they come loose all the time, and it's aggravating having to keep tightening them. While at REI, I mentioned this problem to the associate helping me and he immediately recommended these Yankz! laces as a possible solution. Skeptical over a product that, frankly, looks from the packaging like it won't work, I desperately bought them anyway since they are fairly inexpensive.

Let me tell you: I am SO glad I wasn't dissuaded by the questionable packaging, because these things are fantastic. The container opens up with instructions on how to apply them to your shoes, and they are very easy to do. It really takes all of five minutes to do each shoe. The only confusing part is the picture for attaching the toe clip (there are two holes underneath the toe clip; insert your laces straight up through these holes, then pull the laces to the side and they'll lock in...the picture is confusing). Otherwise just use your foot to judge what will be a comfortable fit for you. You should essentially be able to slip your foot in and out of your shoes with relative ease and *without undoing anything including the cord loop*, yet your feet should be snug and comfortable within the shoes. And that's it. Do it right the first time and you should never have to worry about touching your laces ever again. These are supposed to be one size fits all up to size 12 (with larger sizes available). My Merrells are size 14, and even with threading the laces through the metal hooks on top of the shoes, these were long enough.

I LOVE those laces. I am actually using them for a while already and just wanted to have them also in my other running shoes. Putting them in for the first time, might take a little longer, but you never have to touch your laces again! I can only recommend them!

I run and participate in triathlons. These laces keep a constant tension on the shoe and I find them much more consistent than tying and retying traditional laces. I bought them for the whole family. The kids love them, in part, I think, because they are different. I recommend these to anyone for almost any type of shoe --- my daughter has them on high tops.

I purchased these after running distance in warmer temps. My feet were swelling and regular laces were not giving, restricting blood flow and becoming tighter.

The Yankz were a great solution as I would lace them to be just snug enough and as I ran a few miles, my feet would expand and the laces would give while maintaining the snug fit that was needed.

I ended up buying a pair for my second set of training shoes.

For the money, a good, pratical purchase.

oh, and they look pretty cool to.

Love the laces, they stay put, are comfy and make getting the shoes on and off quickly a breeze. The directions suck though. Lacing them in can be tricky. Nothing on the package but a website link that led to very unclear directions. The laces are so great I would use them as my "stocking stuffer" this year, but not until I have time to draw up my own instruction sheet, using the steps outlined below. The first shoe lacing can be a real pain, but when you get to the second shoe it will seem easy. Then you will start replacing the laces in all of your shoes. Does Goodwill take used shoe laces?

1. Hold the laces with the large plastic clip facing down. Pull a loop about 1/2-2 inches out, and lock the clip to hold the loop by pushing up on the center plastic strip.
2. Still with the logo facing down, start at the top of the shoe (by your ankle) and lace down to the bottom (if you have those little tabs to help hold the shoe tongue up, make sure that you lace through those as well.)
3.) Once you have finished lacing down towards the toe of the shoe, hold the other little plastic clip with the wide base of the triangle towards the toe of the shoe. The grove in the little clip should be facing up. Put each lace through a hole on the wide end of the triangle and head them back up towards the top of the shoe (your ankle)again.
4.) Pull each lace sharply out to the side to lock them into the little clip.
5.) Go back to the loop at the top clip (near your ankle) and pull that loop down to the little clip. The top loop will fit in the groove of the little clip. The logo should then be facing up, and the top loop should stretch a bit to fit into the little clip on the lower loop.

Yankz are strong elastic shoe laces that stay permanently cinched, so they make your lace-up shoes into pull-ons, and give the tiniest bit of comfortable flex while being worn. Once they are adjusted to your liking they will stay that way. I have had them on my low hikers for a couple of years and have walked many miles in comfort. I was sceptical before installing them, but my feet recommend them highly.
