I had high hopes for this hose reel, but I had three problems which has caused me to return the item after one day.

1. Wrong Hardware: Attached to the reel was a hardware packet and instructions for the Yard Butler HTC-1 Garden Hose Truck. While it was not a huge problem since the reel handle fit the SR-360 and all I was missing was a second set screw, I really wonder about Yard Butler's quality control.

2. Hose Gets Stuck: This was my biggest problem. I was using a heavy duty 5/8 inch 100ft hose and when I rolled it onto the reel the hose got hung up between the support arm and the hose already rolled onto the reel. If you roll the hose up completely evenly, it's fine, but because the reel swivels so freely it is very hard to achieve a "perfect" roll. If you use a light duty hose or less than 100ft this will not be an issue, but I don't understand why they designed the support arm so close to the underside of the reel.

3. Needs Cement: The product description does not mention the fact that the item needs to be cemented into the ground. Had the reel work well I would not have a problem with a permanent installation, but I think it should be mentioned in the description and people should be aware that they will need to cement the support post into the ground. Initially, I was hoping it could be installed by driving the support into the ground without cement, but because of design and shut-off valve that is impossible.

So now that it's being returned, I think I am going to spend the extra money and buy a Rapid Reel Free Standing Garden Hose Reel Model #1042-GH. I have a Rapid Reel wall mounted reel and it's great.

I LOVE THIS REEL!!! I HAVE MAJOR BACK PROBLEMS AND I HAVE NO TROUBLE UNREELING OR REELING THE HOSE BACK UP AND I DON'T HAVE TO BEND OVER. I'M ORDERING ANOTHER ONE FOR THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE AND PITCHING THAT PLASTIC PIECE OF JUNK THAT DOESN'T WORK!!

This product arrived rusted and mas manufactured incorrectly. They are sending me know parts but I have yet to receive them. They claim it will hold up to 200' of 5/8 hose, if they didn't put the "up to" part in it would be a lie. It barely holds and I mean barely, 200' of the lightest weight 1/2" hose you can buy! That was a big disappointment because I have a large yard and need 200' of 5/8 hose. I am also having water pressure issues since I installed it which I've yet to figure out. It definately has something to do with this reel though because I hooked up another reel with 200' of hose and it worked fine. Overall, I wouldn't buy this again, but now I have it concreted in the ground!

Decided to try the Yard Butler after reading the reviews -- and after being fed up with the clumsy plastic hose carts that rely on water pressure to wind the hose. The Butler has a straightforward design and is easy to install and use. It even looks somewhat "sculptural" in the garden. I'm so pleased with it that I'm about to order a second one!

I purchased this item with 2 expectations. First, I wanted a hose reel other than the cheap plastic portable unit I currently struggle with. Second, I wanted a quality metal hose reel that some one could not just walk off with, as this reel is to be installed in my front yard. The first expectation was met. No more tipping over,no more having to point the reel in the direction of use and no more tearing up of my ground cover and plants. To meet the second expectation, a modification to the hose reel assembly is necessary. The post is in 2 parts, a base that is cemented in the ground and the hose reel post that slips onto the base. There are no fasteners holding the reel post to the base. This means someone could just lift the reel assembly off the post and walk away with it. To secure the unit, you need to bolt the 2 pieces together. This requires drilling the base and reel post while assembled and installing a secure fastener through both. Once assembled properly, this is a 5 star item, but a 3 star item as delivered.

Out of the box, the parts would not fit together properly. I had to call the company to get another lower leg assembly (part that is cemented into the ground) because it would not mate with the upper assembly. Company was very prompt in getting me a new assembly and I have it installed in my front yard. It is OK but would not buy a second unit for backyard because it is not easy to wind the hose back onto the reel as I expected. It is not worth the $99 I spent for the unit.

Great product. So much so that we have ordered THREE of them for our yard. Only complaint is that it shakes a little when you wind it up because the hose holder simply "slips over" the stake in the ground. Wish they had a way to secure it better.

This is an excellent winder for any hose. The height makes it very easy and convenient to use. It just take a little effort to install it. First you need to dig hole for it. Then put it in, fill the hole with a bag of dry cement, make sure its upright, and wet the cement. But once set, it's the perfect hose winder.

The Yard butler is light years beyond what you can buy at the big box stores.
I was not interested in buying something that was made of plastic and needed to be
replaced in a year or 2.
Mounts easily and all of my neighbors wanted one once they saw mine.
Awsome product. I would highly recomend the Yard Butler.
