This is a great product for tilling between plants and other areas where I can't use my larger mechanical tiller. It pushes into the soil easily and twists back and forth with light to moderate effort. The bar just above the tines is very useful for helping to push them into the ground by stepping on it. I have used the tiller for a few hours in a day and although there is some work involved my arms didn't end up sore nor did I get especially tired from it. I am very satisfied with this tool.

The soil in high traffic areas in my backyard became very compacted. This tiller helped to break it. I also used it to aerate around the lawn and get rid of the moss by twisting it out. I then sowed some grass seeds and added a fertilizer. My lawn is now green and ready for winter. I especially liked the fact that I could use my feet to push the tiller in - hands alone wouldn't handle this tough job. The tiller is heavy and solidly made and is covered with hammered gray enamel. It will serve me for the years to come.

This was a surprise for my husband. He really likes it a lot. He states that it couldn't do heavy duty tilling, but it was great for getting grass and weeds, plus their roots, out of a bed he was working on. His words were, "it is so easy to use and is a lot better then I ever expected it to be".

I found it a great tool. I had about a 15' x 15' area in need of tilling and seeding. While it took a few hours it did the job. Granted this tool not really designed for that large a space, so I consider this "big job" a one time thing.

However, the tool will be great for use in tilling and seeding some small areas in my yard and especially in tight areas. Seemed quite sturdy.

One suggestion. Don't drive the tool down all the way initially in compacted ground as it will be hard to twist. Do a little at a time, increasing depth. But really half way in is all the depth you need to till soil for seeding.

I love this tool. I did not want to buy a tiller since I was not planning to do a big garden. It works great for my small space. Great exercise tool as well-- gets your arms and legs working. If you have really hard, compacted soil like mine, you might benefit from using a spade first. Then the yard butler, and what a butler it is!

This tool is very rugged and durable, and was much better than what I expected. I was able to tear through the soil easily, and gt a good workout in the process. It does have some heft to it, but that helps give it momentum to pierce the ground. I pick it up about 6-inches, then drop it in. The only time I had to use the step (which fit even my big feet) was on harder packed ground.

I liked to use this tiller when I was working in good, rich soil. It wasn't as easy to use in Georgia red clay and I found that very frustrating. I am 5'2" and it was well suited to my height, but my 6'4" husband didn't feel the same way. It suited my needs for the most part.

The first day I got this I was out in my yard useing it. I have a cage in my back from a spinal fusion and duprutin dease in my hands (had surgery on both hands). And I had know problems useing this product. And it works great and the foot step on it which others don't have made all the difference. And it is very light, I weigh 110 LB and am 54yrs young, had to wear garden gloves but then I have to wear them with just mowing the lawn. I loved that I was able to do my own yard work and my kids were impressed also. Thanks YARD BUTLER.

I wish I had ordered this tiller years ago. I have always had trouble digging up old sod prior to re-sodding. This tiller is just the tool that you need for this job in addition to tilling garden soil. I am impressed with the quality of the steel in the product and I like the foot plate which is handy for pushing the tiller into the soil. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great for tilling small or large areas of soil and removing weeds. Wish I found out about this product years ago.
