See the reviews others have posted for the 31cc model - wish I had seen these before I bought this as those reviews seem indicative of bigger quality issues at Yard Machines which also seem to be sold under Sears Craftsman brand. As others noted with the smaller model, I had issues out of the box with the pull start. Used the tiller just 3 times before the pull start broke - took it apart and found cheap/plastic/flimsy parts. But tiller was still under warranty so took it to one of their shops to do the repair. 5 months later and still waiting for the part. When it worked, the tiller did the job but couple cautions:
1) with just the one support wheel in front, the tiller kicks side to side and is very hard to balance so you'd better be very big, fit, and strong to handle it because you are going to get a workout.
2) if it leans too much, oil leaks and very difficult to start/run until it burns it all out in great clouds of smoke.
Got this onsale for 279 which is a lot less than listed here and would avoid paying more based on Yard machine quality problems.

Folks, if you didn't grow up on a farm then there are a few things you need to know about front tine tillers. First of all, front tine machines are naturally hard to handle. They will buck and kick, just the nature of these machines. If you want considerably less handling issues buy a rear tine. I bought this little machine a couple years ago and it works great. It has done everything I have asked of it. I am not very fit anymore as age has caught up to me, but I just take a few breaks and I get the job done with this little guy. It is a stout worker for such a small motor. If you do not abuse this machine it will give you a lot of good years of service. READ THE DIRECTIONS if you are not familiar with tillers. You can get hurt if you attempt something it wasn't designed to do. I would recommend this machine to most anyone that has small garden projects or re-sodding projects. It works great.
