My old small snow blower broke down in blizzard 2009, I went out look for a big brand $1000 28" snow thrower but the only thing available was this "Yard Machine 24 inch". I was surprise ho good it is, very powerful, did great job!

Excellent performance for the heavy wet snows typical for the Baltimore Area. Plenty of power to muscle through 2 feet of snow.

This snow thrower has been working well for us. We had some repair done in the second winter. We reported it to MTD customer support department in OH and they responded quickly and settled the issue to our satisfaction. Check out this product at Lowes.MTD 31AM2N1B704 179CC 21" Snow Thrower

I tried my best to do my homework before buying this snow thrower. We have been having quite a few above normal snow falls in recent years. I am getting older (well more lazy perhaps) and this seemed like the time to buy. Got fantastic deal on shipping and could not beat the price anywhere.

It ripped through three day old compacted snow on the drive area and made easy work out of some old-poorly placed shoveled piles that were over two feet high. The heavy wet snow that had just fallen was also childspay for this thing.

The only thing I have to say negative about it is completely my fault. The plastic tool for clearing the device came off on one of my passes of the taller piles and I was leaning the machine back to dig in to them and partly beacause it was dark out - I did not see it and I ran it over; taking it into the auger. It killed one of the shearing bolts. Piece of cake to change though (cotter pin not lock nuts) and it came with two extras!!

I think this is the beggining of a beautiful relationship!!

We just had a blizzard here in the east. Two feet of snow with giant drifts. Did my long driveway and three of the neighbors'. Not a single problem. Owned this for five years now. Rebuilt carburetor last year (two dollars in parts). Fantastic machine at a good price. I use the electric start but engine starts on single pull.

the first few times the start worked fine, then makes noise and will not get engage with motor, and once a while works.it is too heavy to take it to repair shop,the repair shop said not sure warranty will cover the cost. got to pay $140.00 to fix it.

This machine is extremely poorly constructed and the instructions are useless. I had to play around on my own quite a bit to get this piece of crap to be even moderately useful. Unless you're a do-it-yourselfer who can put things together basically without any instructions, look elsewhere for your snowblower!

Used it once, now useless since a mouse got into the air intake. The warranty repair place said that they have seen this model suffer this 3 other times as there is no screen or air fiter. They had not seen this on any other snow blower, just this model.

The factory had a "snotty" attitude and assured me I wouldn't want a snow blower that had a filter or screen to keep mice out of the engine. In fact it's perfect the way it is (mine doesn't run but still "perfect")

So don't buy this if you have a mouse, or might have a mouse, or might get mice in the future, or don't know if you have mice.

$600+ to clean my walk once.
