HOW EASY!, May 15, 2005
This review is from: Yard-Man 11A-435D701 6.5-HP Yard-Man 3-in-1 Push Mower (Lawn & Patio)
I read about this lawn mower in Consumer Reports, I ordered it from Amazon (which seemed odd to me, but realized they'd deliver it to my door). I put it together (requires very little set-up), and it worked. For a mower that isn't self-propelled, it's light weight and easy to handle. It may be called a Yard-Man, but it's also good for a Yard-Woman. The only problem is that is works best for a right-handed person. It's impossible to pull the starter with your left hand. Fortunately it started easily.

It works as advertised..., July 24, 2005
This review is from: Yard-Man 11A-435D701 6.5-HP Yard-Man 3-in-1 Push Mower (Lawn & Patio)
Recently, my trusty old lawn mower bit the dust (pun intended) so I began shopping for a new mower. I tried all of the local home improvement stores, department stores and even a couple of huge volume discont places, but everything was overpriced (in my humble opinion). I turned to the Internet and my favorite search engine for guidance. After a few clicks I had an idea of the average price for a 6.5HP, 21" power mower, and it was much lower than the local stores. I clicked a link for a mower that seemed like the best choice and to my surprise, I was taken to Amazon dot com. I had no idea that I could buy garden equipment at Amazon and that they would be the lowest price--so i bought it.
A few weeks later the mower arrived and I assembled it in no time flat. Curious about the quality and performance of my new mower, I rushed out to cut my lawn now in much need of a trim. The instruction manual said to pump the prime button three times and pull the starter cord. I was a bit skeptical because my old, but obssessively maintained mower required about 5-7 primes and then a pull or two to start. I primed the Yardman per the manual, pulled once and vroooom it started right up. The first thing that I noticed was the quietness of the 6.5HP motor. Second, the Yardman cut the neglected lawn effortlessly and cleanly without leaving any random sprouts. It performed so well and fast on my small front lawn that I decided to tackle the larger back yard. Again, the Yardman effortlessly flew through my 4" scaggly mess of St. Aguastine. In about 35 minutes I was finished with both lawns and my first "cold one."
I highly recommend this mower for anyone with a modest to good-size lawn. It cut the St. Agustine and Bermuda grasses with little effort and great precision. My only disappointment with my purchase was the variance from the estimated date of delivery. For reasons unknown to me, Amazon or Yardman delayed my order by a week or so and Amazon even offered to cancel the order and refund my money. But who am I to complain about shipping dates, especially after Amazon threw in free shipping on this huge and heavy box? I will just keep beieving that the dealy was due to a shortage of Yardman mowers that was caused by an army of smart shoppers like me who know a true value (no pun intended this time) when we see one.

Consumer Reports was correct--this product is definitely a best buy. I am very happy with the service, delivery, and the product itself.
