4.0 out of 5 stars Great ideas for mixing yarns
The book has some great ideas, both specific and general, for mixing small-ish quantities of different yarns. Some patterns call for several skeins of a given yarn, which might not fit everyone's "stash" profile; but I found many projects so appealing that I'd augment what I already have with new yarn I'd buy, just to create the piece. Nothing of interrest in this book for me or many of my knitter friends. Would be good if one can view some of the other pages before purchasing the book. I didnt have enough of anything in my Stash to complete an item. However, it was good to find instructions that are easy to follow.

I liked this book because the instructions are simple, and the ideas practical for using up leftover or odds and ends yarns you might have.

I like instructions that are one or two lines, and suggestions for organizing the stash by color and weight so you can see what might work together.

And she talks about new novelty yarns that are hard to use due to their unpredictable gauge when knit up.

If you are an expert knitter there is nothing here that you don't know, but if you are a beginner with lots of impulse yarn buys, this book may get you to use them up.

very good book to have - esp if you have a large stash of yarn. Most designs are appealing and can't be found in other sources

4.0 out of 5 stars A welcome addition to my library, March 10, 2007

This book will surely come in handy when I am in the mood to knit something different and use up some of my stash. The suggestions and strategies for stripes to use single skeins of yarn are helpful. I have already chosen my first project. I have a single skein of blue yarn that matches another single skein of a beautiful blue varigated yarn - once I pick up a couple of additional skeins I will get to work on the sleeveless shell. The day I received my order I shared the book with my knitting group - I think a couple of my knitting friends are going to order it too. A welcome addition to my library.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ideas Abound!, February 13, 2007

This is a great book for any knitter...new to experienced. I found great ideas to incoporate into my own creative style. It challenges the experienced knitter to take a chance and shows the new knitter that it's OK to think out of the box.

Yes, we all have odd balls of yarn. This book teaches you how to put together colors and textures to make garments. It gives one an explanation and understanding or what colors goes next to what fibers. You end up with a finished, one-of-a-kind project. Great photography, well written and enough information to get you going into that knitting bin.

Lovely book, great for any "yarn addict". Good projects for left over yarn. The book is beautifully made. Makes a great "coffee table" book.
Lot of good ideas for any knitter. Great addition to my library.

I've made the poncho on the front cover and a toboggan hat, using up lots of yarn from my stash, It's a bit time consuming changing yarns and then hiding all the ends when you get done, but the outcome is just beautiful.

This beautiful book is helpful to those of us who love yarns and have many leftovers. I have already finished the mitered pillow and I am
very pleased with it. Well written with great patterns, pictures, and tips, I am glad I bought this book.
