One of his best albums,
This review is from: Ye Hui Mei (CD + VCD) (Audio CD)
It's too hard for me to rank Jay's albums because all of them have at least 3-5 songs that I really love. "Ye Hui Mei" is definitely near the top of his work, though. It really showcases his creativity and his desire to challenge himself to come up with a new sound.I've starred my favorites, but actually all of these songs are excellent. Tracklist 1. In The Name Of The Father * - he sings about the mafia lifestyle; has a lot of Italian influence in it; beautiful song (and you can check out the MV on youtube, it's amazing) 2. Coward - Catchy rock song. Jay raps really well on this one. 3. Clear Day * - The best song on this album. A BEAUTIFUL ballad and one of my favorite Jay songs 4. Third Year, Class Two * - Endlessly creative. This song is about ping pong and you can hear the ping pong ball bouncing in the background. Nice beat and very addictive. 5. East Wind Breaks - another nice ballad with catchy chorus 6. You Can Hear - nice melody 7. The Same Kind Of Tune - catchy dance + R&B beat 8. Her Eyelashes - another foray into alternative music; love the guitar playing in this song! 9. Cliff Of Love - another catchy ballad 10. Rice Field - this one has great lyrics 11. Double Blade * - Terrific rock/alternative song. Makes you want to get up and dance. Combines ancient-style Chinese music too to a wonderful and unique effect. (The music video for this song is the best one Jay has ever made, imo. Go find it on youtube; I've never seen him look cooler than he does in the MV for this song)

My first real taste of Chinese pop, I'm enjoying this album quite a bit!I speak a tiny bit of Chinese, I'm trying to learn it, and I like foreign music, so I bought this CD. It's the first time I've listened to Jay Chou, I heard about him from watching 'the Curse of the Golden Flower', in which he did a really good job (cool movie). The music style is pop with a touch of rap, I found the songs catchy, some of them surprisingly pretty. A few are slow, wishy-washy boring, but for the most part I liked the music. A good buy. Tracks: 1. Yi Fu Zhi Ming 2. Nuo Fu 3. Qing tian 4. San Nian Er Ban 5. Dong Feng Po 6. Ni Ting De Dao 7. Tong Yi Zhong Diao Diao 8. Ta de jie mao 9. Ai Qing Xuan Ya 10. Ti Tian 11. Shuang Dao Favorite tracks: 7 and 11

One of the two CD cases arrived damaged although the exterior packaging was intact. The music itself is great.
