I have seen a lot on the internet and read a lot concerning Y2K. You are the only one I have seen put together checklists -- a very valuable piece of information

I liked the book but i mean, I'm 13 and I need a lot to understand these tihgns... I'm a quick 13 yr old and i didn't even learn about what Y2K means...

This book is worth buying for the resource guide alone! It has the most complete listing of "Y2K preparedness" supply companies that I have ever seen. The authors have clearly done exhaustive research and they do a superb job of distilling the information into plain language. One does not have to be a computer science scholar to utilize this book! The "what-if" scenarios are sensible, not sensationalistic, and the suggestions for appropriate action are thoughtfully presented.

If you are serious about y2k and want one book that covers the subject, Resource Guide" by the Millennium Information Group and published by Sun Publishing, is the book for you. The first section covers what the computer bug is, how it happened, and how it may personally affect you. The second section covers what we can do to prepare for the unknown that y2k may bring. The book emphasizes preparedness, not fear! It includes many web page references for those with Internet access, worksheets for the many different areas of preparedness, and sources for additional information and supplies. Although the price of the book may seem a little high, it would be a small price compared to making a mistake in your preparation planning and implementation

Written in an easy to follow format. A must have resource for anyone concerned with getting it together in time for Y2K. No where else have I seen such a complete list of references regarding this subject.

This book avoids the hype and hysteria surrounding the Millennium Bug. In clear, concise, everyday language, it presents the problem surrounding the two-digit date problem. It then puts control over the situation directly into the reader's hands. The easy-to-use Workbook section allows you to calculate exactly how to go about preparing your home and finances to withstand whatever disruption Y2K produces.

This is not a technical book, not a bits-and-bytes examination of the problem. Rather, it is a resource that lets individuals determine how much of a problem they expect come January 1, 2000. It then provides a mechanism to figure out how much provisions should be stockpiled, as well as describing the best way to store these resources.

The overall tone of the book puts the reader in control; one of the results of the media's coverage of the Millennium Bug is that people aren't sure exactly what could happen and why. All in all, the book puts you back in control of your life. You may not be able to avoid every disruption, but you will sleep better in the days leading up to January 2000 because you will know that you've done everything you can to prepare.

As a "Vendor" in the Y2K industry -- I see, read, review, preview lots of items for sale on our website. When Skip contacted me, he sent me two copies of the book. I put the first one to good use - - for me... and gave the second one to my friend.... As someone who is experienced... and someone who is not (my friends) with Y2K - I can tell you the response and information derived from this was great!

So many of these type books simply rehash information you see everyday -- this author has put together much of that "Same old" information in a very readable, useable, understandable format.

How big of generator, food sources, how to store food, preparing your medical kits,... everything in easy to understand language.. or the vendors where to buy it.

I reccomend this book overwhelmingly ( and so do 5 of my frineds who have read my copies!!)

So much so - they are ordering copies for themselves... Good job folks!!

I found some information in this book that I had not seen before in my extensive research. But as for checklists, you may wish to combine this book with "Making the Best of Basics: Family Preparedness Handbook", which has a much better focus on what to do about storing food including shelf life, recommended quantities and basic recipes. The "Year 2000 Survival Checklists" book, however, has a nice section on personal financial analysis and planning.

Reading this workbook was like sitting in a circle of informative friends sharing ideas for coping come the year 2000. The presentation of potential situations that could arise as a result of the Y2K "crisis" is spelled out in a fashion that is not frightening and couched in the framework of community approaching and working as a whole with one another's wellbeing in mind . The resource guide as well as individual inventory checklists are well thought out, and the design of the entire book promotes immediate, hands-on involvement for every woman and man concerned.

This helpful guidebook is a calming resource amid the hysteria generated by Year 2000 alarmists. No one knows the extent to which the Millenium Bug will disrupt our lives, but there is a simple way to get yourself ready: Assess the readiness of your community's utilities, your bank, and your home's food/water/heating capabilities. It's for everyday citizens who've heard the alarms sounded about Jan. 1, 2000 and wonder what they can do the provide their families with a safe and sane lifestyle should the disruption last more than a few days. It includes a bibliography pointing you to other, more technical information if you desire. Its main emphasis, however, is on easing your mind and assuring yourself and your family that you are prepared to weather the potential storm.
