There isn't much information available on the site about this album but the original title was "2525 (exordium & terminus") released in 1969 by RCA Victor. The first time I heard "In The Year 2525 (exordium & terminus")(the song's full title) I was a kid riding his bicycle with an A M radio taped to the handlebars. The prophetic song was originally written by Rick Evans in 1964 and when he joined forces with Denny Zager in 1968 they pressed their own copies of the song and it was eventually brought to the attention of RCA. The rest of the album's tunes are reminiscent of Don McLean's American Pie album; One big hit with a bunch of folksey sounding filler surrounding it.

The above review cites this CD as a bootleg, even though he does not own it. (Huh? How's that???) I DO own this cd, on the Oxford label, nothing on the outside to suggest that it is anything but a legally licensed CD, and if it is a bootleg, then we're all being fooled, because it sounds fantastic, even the hit "In the Year 2525" sounds cleaner than I've EVER heard it, and I own it on A LOT of domestic CDs. The production and Discographical info included also doesn't suck, along with photos of the 45 picture sleeves. For me, the attraction was finally having a copy of "Mr. Turnkey" on CD; for some reason, probably bad mastering, the RCA Gold Series 45 always had a skip toward the end of the song, in the instrumental outro, on not one, but FOUR copies!! The censored 45 version is here as a bonus cut, along with the sparser, uncensored version from the 2nd album. (The 45 starts the third verse with "Mr. Turnkey, I forced that girl in Wichita Falls", the album version lyric goes, "Mr. Turnkey, there's been a rape in Wichita Falls"). As for the music on both albums on this CD, yes it is probably mellower than most people (other than 60s Hippies) are used to, but that doesn't make the music bad; it IS a time capsule, so each to their own taste. But buying the newer Wounded Bird CD also isn't a bad idea, I just think it's worth the extra few bucks to have the six 45 cuts as well, and there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with this CD. Plus, you haven't LIVED until you hear "In the Year 2525" sung in ITALIAN!!!

I do not have this CD, but I do know that this is a bootleg disc of Zager & Evans's 2 RCA albums, plus the Truth label version of "In The Year 2525" and the 45 version of "Mister Turnkey" as a bonus track. These 2 albums will soon be reissued by Wounded Bird, so potential buyers should buy the In the Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)/Zager & Evans twofer on Wounded Bird that is linked in this review instead of the bootleg, even though the bonus material is not included.
