Excellent for family time and sharing Christ with kids,
By A Customer
This review is from: One Year Book of Family Devotions, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This is one of the most awesome devotional books I have ever encountered. Its easy to read style makes it great for children to read to adults. The stories are simple and every child can see themselves in the stories. The content covers everything from prayer, to dealing with friends, to bringing friends to Christ. I strongly urge every Christian parent to share this book with their child.

I purchased this with the hopes of creating a devotional time with my kids that would be encouraging and age appropriate. After reading it the first night before bed, my kids ages 7 and 9, have asked to read it every night since. The devotions discuss topics that apply to them and are easy to understand. After reading, we have had many wonderful conversations and have been able to apply it directly to them. I absolutely love this book and the oppurtunities it has provided.

My husband and I really enjoy our family devotional time together as we read through each devotional and the lesson it offers. It's a lesson that as parents we are reminded to be loving and it teaches the child to become who God has asked us all to be, so that we can enjoy the blessings of being called His child. I highly recommend this devotional!

Enjoy reading these devotions with my kids, ages 6 through 11. Find them to be practical and applicable to daily living. Doesn't take more than five minutes, but it's five minutes well-spent.

My kids are 12 and 10. They act like they don't like to read these but then There have been times that they have reminded me we didn't read one. We don't get to them every night but I figure what we do is more than doing nothing. I like that there is a bible verse and then a story that relates to the kids. We don't memorize the bible verse as there is a new one for every night. The questions are good but not great. They are a starting point for discussion but many of them don't dive too deep. It is nice that there are questions though to get us started. This is something we do after dinner on the nights we can. I have purchased this book for my sister and her kids because I think it is a good way to bring the bible into our daily lives and help teach them a valuable lesson at the same time. There are topics I may not think to discuss with them. I believe if nothing else they are getting that my husband and I value God in our lives and want them to follow God also. That alone is good enough reason to read this book with the family and to get this book or a book similar to it. I'm sure it is touching our lives in ways I don't even know.

Our kids are ages 6, 9, and 13. This devotional has been a great addition to family devotion time. I would say it relates more to our 6 and 9 year olds, but the stories and related verses open up family discussion which we all enjoy.
