4.0 out of 5 stars Neonatal and perinatal medicine, April 26, 2009
The Year Book of Pediatrics is a classic and James A Stockman III from Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina has done a tremendous work and alone compiled an all round review of research research in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. He starts out with "Aliqo te volo petere" (latin for more or less the phraze that I want to bounce something off you) and indeed he has done that with his commentaries in his literature search of 33 journals. This book is a self-directed learning process for people interested in pediatrics and child health and the recent news in this field.
The Neonatal and Perinal Medicine Year Book is another story and not a one-man job, but the result of 74 people who have done a literature search of 53 journal and shown us the recent findings in this field. The book is opened with a wonderful dfeatured commentary on the relationship of neonatologist end-of-life decisions by Anne Lyren from Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
Both books are recommended for the busy pediatrician, who wants to know the latest in our field without have to go through the enorumous amount of literature and journals that are around these days.
