Laura Stamps is a bestselling Pagan paranormal erotica novelist. She writes three Pagan fiction series (The Witchery Series, The Rune Witch Series, The Manigault Vampires). She also writes a nonfiction series about her lusty, oversexed life (The Memoir Series). Because she portrays Pagans realistically, her novels are full of real spells, chants, and rituals.

Laura is the author of 53 books as well as the recipient of many awards, including a "Pulitzer Prize" nomination and seven "Pushcart Award" nominations. A Wiccan Faery Witch, Otherkin Fey, and sexual sorceress, she enjoys writing novels about contemporary Pagans living in the Deep South.

Currently, Laura lives in Columbia, South Carolina, in an antebellum-style house with her 9 cats. Beyond her backyard lies a state forest, which just happens to be full of faeries. *Fey wink*

5.0 out of 5 stars The Year of the Cat, January 14, 2006
This review is from: The Year of the Cat: New Poems (Paperback)
I loved reading these poems over and over. As I read, I think of my own cats, the ones that share their lives with me now and the ones who touched my life over the the years. If you have shared your life with a cat, this book of poems is a must have!
Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Joy For Every Day..., November 29, 2005
This review is from: The Year of the Cat: New Poems (Paperback)
I don't think anything I can say will do justice to this book, but...

If you don't read this book (or my favorite poem, "July 14"), you will miss "surrendering to happiness" and wind up "succumbing to sorrow." Stopping to smell the roses and feel the glory of the Divine is magnified a hundred-fold in Laura Stamps' poetry, as she opens your eyes to the beauty in the petal of a flower, the curve of a cloud, the chirrup of a bird, the whoosh of the wind, all provoked by the attitude of her kitties. Inspirational is an understatement.

Enjoy this book and fill your heart. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended For Lovers of Cats & Poetry, November 23, 2005
This review is from: The Year of the Cat: New Poems (Paperback)
Laura Stamps, in The Year of the Cat, manages to do some difficult things. She is spiritual, without being preachy. She is graceful, without being sugary sweet. Her poems, while focusing on our feline friends, go far beyond their subject matter to address life and the world in general. And in addition to these accomplishments, Stamps includes a refreshing dose of gentle humor, too. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Laura Stamps is a unique voice in today's literary scene. With the holidays drawing near, The Year of the Cat would make a great gift for the cat lover or poetry lover on your gift list.
