Book Description

1979
Konrad Lorenz is often referred to as "father of the greylag geese." He has devoted a lifetime to their study. Sharing their lives at close quarters, he has truly entered their skins, and in the process has created one of the most vivid, beguiling, and entertaining documents to have emerged from ethology, the science of which he is cofounder.

This review is from: The Year of the Greylag Goose (Hardcover)
I bought this book at least 20 years ago after reading another Lorenz book. This is a most wonderful book on so many levels. Thoughtful, informative, intelligent, beautifully photographed, and personal. I HIGHLY recommend it to families as the kind of book you leave out hoping your children will pick it up and read it, and become inspired to dedicate their lives to or at least cultivate a love of nature.
