5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Useful
I normally buy the Farmer's Almanac Gardening calendar, but this year I decided to try something else, for a change of pace. I picked the calendar out of the box and saw right away that it was printed on good quality paper. I went through every month to see what the calendar offers (I usually try to wait, but I never learned to be patient!) Each month features a vibrant...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed--days of week filled with quotes/words--unable to personalize w/my daily to-do's.
I was so excited to receive this calendar. The photos, wonderful recipes and info on healthy eating was great! However, I buy a calendar so that I can write in reminders and daily to-do's, tasks and activities--more than half of the daily spots are filled with quotes and writing--leaving no room to write in. I need a calendar that offers the photos and info I like but...

I normally buy the Farmer's Almanac Gardening calendar, but this year I decided to try something else, for a change of pace. I picked the calendar out of the box and saw right away that it was printed on good quality paper. I went through every month to see what the calendar offers (I usually try to wait, but I never learned to be patient!) Each month features a vibrant seasonal photograph of a food item, and I can't resist; I love food. In the top right side of the calendar is a portion that has a different way to improve your life for each month. For example, in January, it reads, "Joy in January." (for the sake of brevity, I won't list the entire contents, there is a lot.) It speaks of finding happiness despite the frigid temperatures and desolate winter weather. Below this is a smaller portion that tells you about a healthy food(s). For January, it is citrus fruit. Under this is a recipe. The recipes are not just thrown together. You'll notice this right away, just at a glance.
The pictures are beautiful and appropriately chosen.
I was surprised that others had not reviewed this treat of a calendar. It is truly a well-kept secret. I wish I knew about it sooner, because I would have started buying it years ago.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2008 calendar, February 1, 2009
A Year of Healthy Living 2008 Calendar: Recipes and Tips for Your Health and Well Being Do not recommend - pretty photos but did not realize it was 2008 when I purchased it in 2009. Very disappointed in content and that it was wrong year.
